J.L. a 21 year old native of Chicago discovered his writing and singing talent as he followed and emulated artists that inspired him such as: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tank and Musiq. J.L began to take music serious when he got in high school. He attended Kenwood Academy in Chicago Il. where he received classic voice lessons. One of the most notable artists that attended Kenwood academy is R&B sensation and producer R. Kelly. J.L. began to manifest his craft as a first tenor partially due to his alliance to religion. J.L. played piano, drums and began singing in the church choir at an early age. He has performed at the gospel fest in Chicago and Southern Illinois University. J.L has also shared the stage with many legendary artists such as Jeffery Osbourne and was a featured artist at The Chi-lites 25th anniversary concert in Chicago with his group N-Trigue. A master in the art of storytelling, J.L. began writing at an early age. His vivid imagination and creative energy has enabled him to write six songs on his forthcoming album with French Kiss Entertainment. His first single “Hairweave” is already burning up the airwaves and receiving great reviews in the Chicago land. With the production of French Kiss Entertainment, J.L. is one of the hottest R&B artists set to make his mark in the industry. “Hairweave” featuring Optimo from the dirty south/Aur-city, has become a club favorite as has “Dangerous” featuring Pheave. Another favorite for the ladies is “Sex” . J.L. is honored and ecstatic to be a part of French Kiss Entertainment which has done production for some of the hottest hip-hop and R&B artists in the world.
