Bio
Begun as the abstract artistic union between two Boston natives, Professa and Spaceman somewhere around the Fall of 2000, JP Lime Productions is a multi-media, cross-genre company built on unique ideals of Family, Accountability, Production and the Power of a Dream. Upon its inception, Prof and Space immediately shared this new dream to Cowboy (Jr.), Milky and (Dr.) Giggles and the group identity was born in earnest. Instilled with a desire to create something new, a desire to change and improve the world around them, a desire to take their place on the world stage, the five began the process of constant collaboration, including a screenplay (Rufus Zooted), late-night television series (Late Night with Genghis Knight), a documentary series (Life Beyond the B.S.), and countless other projects. Therm aka PassThat wandered in through a door we left open when we werent looking with all kinds of past and present connections to different people in the group. Simultaneous with their writing, the groups musical interests, specifically HipHop, continued to boil beneath the surface, thus far lacking an outlet. Space, Milky and Cowboy had begun learning to freestyle (a demon was truly unleashed upon the Earth when Space figured out he could flow!) while Prof remained a poet / writer and Giggles showcased his talents as a our soundguy, narrator, and kept the vibe fun and fresh by being that guy giggling in the corner - our insanity and sanity epitomized in one. In late 2004 and the first few months of 2005, The Lime's musical path grew considerably and crossed with an important cast of characters: Mad Scientist aka Scholar, a fellow Roxbury Latin alumnus, fell out the sky and the illustrious Lady Lime did the same, completing a roster of six MCs, one female singer and one male singer. JP Lime found a preliminary recording outlet in Amherst, MA before taking their tracks to Boston Butta Beats (Triple B Recording - Everett, MA). Since then JP Lime has worked full force on their debut album, 'Super Classic vol. 1' as well as their mixed cd entitled 'The Lime Mixer.' Both projects feature heavy production from the likes of super producers Street Justice of Street Warrior Productions as well as Darth Robb and DJ Endub. The group has performed their music at various locations in the Boston area, including UMass Boston, Boston College, and The Milky Way in Jamaica Plain. Their recent performance in Vergennes, VT showcased an energy ready to burst. Fueled by consciousness, originality, and a passionate desire to rock the music industry, JP Lime's masterful fusion of talent, personalities, and sound has become their signature. Their music knows no boundaries, as evident by the sikly smooth pop grooves of the JK produced track 'Fast Love' and the raw power of the politically charged 'Sound The Alarm.' Driven by the forces of six different and independently potent rhyming styles, the group hails a comparison, if only stylist to Wu-Tang Clan meets Outkast meets Green Day. The Beatles of Hiphop, Rap's true Grateful Dead, this group is poised to supply a potent and much-needed voice to the Boston, Hip Hop, and music as a whole. The Revolution has arrived, so open your ears, hearts, and minds - JP Lime is here to stay! www.myspace.com/jplime http://www2.bc.edu/~cojulun/scholar.html http://photoshow.comcast.net/citypenguin
