Bio
After Earth began only a promising dream in 1997 by fellow members Massika and Supris. Introduced to each other through Massika's brother, the duo quickly realized the potential they had due to the mutual respect for each other musically and their love and passion for hip-hop. Once the two mc's linked up, it did not take long for them to begin working creatively as they began to rap alongside each other in late 1999. Although Massika and Supris (later shortened to Sup and Mass due to metaphorical differences) began to dabble into their journey in hip-hop, they did not become an official duo until 2000 when they truly became After Earth (AE). They're beliefs and respect for each other drove them to form the group on the foundation to change the way people in general view hip-hop with an irrefutable fervor that is unmatched by the music business. The name After Earth defines elevation in many ways than one. The name simplifies heights of musical talent that cannot be matched. Their music transforms the audience beyond the face of the earth and transcends the listener's mind to another world. In essence, After Earth's music speaks to every class and contemporary that reaches out hip-hop spiritually as well as recreationally. After Earth's inspiration for their articulate rhymes and stories comes from they're predecessors such as Tupac Shakur, Common Sense, Redman and Biggie Smalls to name a few. Legendary and respected artists as these are enough proof to justify the reason why After Earth is entirely talented. After Earth's elongated resume of performances such as Club Speed, Club T-NY, Club Pyramid and SOB's; where they won the Hip Hop Explosion in Spring 2006, to name a few, also demonstrate their experience on being masters of ceremony. They performed at the numerous Faces in the Crowd Showcases, Adante Ace of AOS Radio/Entertainment's Showcases, Urban Threshold and IA Universal's Showcases. They started a buzz for themselves at these showcases while becoming well known by such promoters as Adante Ace of AOS, J.Hatch and Jesse Jess of Urban Threshold as well as amongst the public. Winning at the Hip Hop Explosion in 2006 allowed AE to earn two nominations in the 2006 Underground Music Awards (UMA's) for “Best Rap Duo” and “Best Live Performance.” Even though they didn’t win any award from these nominations they still went home with the “#1 Draft Pick Award” at the UMA's. This mild success have enabled them to do numerous interviews for magazines like Street Mos, also for college radio like William Patterson and Rutgers University, and promo radio on AOS Radio and Urban Threshold. In addition to radio interviews, they've done numerous drops and promos for Ace of AOS Radio and Ed Lover of 105fm. After Earth is a force to be reckoned with in the shallow, over saturated music industry. A breath of fresh air in the hip-hop game, an exceptional debut LP; Full Eclipse, an upcoming sophmore album; 7 Days Extravaganza, and a burning desire to achieve their music goals. After Earth exemplifies nothing but a promising and interesting future as they attempt to place their piece of the puzzle into this ideology we call hip-hop.
