The Ruggs have been rockin the local scene in Minnesota for over five years. The band started as a cover band geared to play parties for friends and family, but it quickly became something more when they started jammin together. The Ruggs got their name from a joke, when the band was fooling around with funny acronyms. Someone suggested The Rugs, which would stand for "The Really Ugly Guys." While the band didn't necessarily want to admit their lack of physical appeal to the opposite sex, they liked the sound of the word "rugs." They decided to add an extra G and let the name stand for "The Really Ugly Guys Gettin' Some." History was made. The Ruggs is a three-piece rock band featuring Derek Patrin on lead vocals and bass, Jon Eitel on lead guitar, and Steve Patrin on drums.
