In an era saturated with upstart MCs all vying for the coveted status of “next big thing”, the story of 22-year old Florida native Young Saint (born Ryan Coles) is a refreshing exception to the route for which the price of fame is paid in blood, sweat, and tears. If his recent christening of 'SCMG: Saint City Music Group' shocked the “haters”, their doubts were quickly refuted when he announced the production of his upcoming mixtape project: ‘Lost Scrolls: Return of the Passion’. The project encapsulates not just who Young Saint is as a rapper, but who he is as an artist and a person. His lyrics touch on everything from his upbringing in Norfolk, Virginia to his childhood memoirs in the hoods of Lafayette and Park Place. His life eventually brought him to the sands of the Florida beach of Port St. Lucie where he transformed into the artist he is today. By using his life experiences, Saint’s quotes, “My mission is to convey to the world that regardless of life’s trials and tribulations you gotta believe that you have the potential to exceed the expectations and be able to push yourself above and beyond limits that were sought to be non-existant. If you got a dream, hold onto it by any means necessary.” Taking from his favorite artists a love for powerful storytelling with an intense inner-strength, Saint advanced to writing his own lyrics at 13, soon amassing stacks of notebooks filled with rhymes and observations. Without much as a hint or forewarning, Saint lost his mother when he was only 17 years old. To provide a way out of his troubled reality, he began to bury himself in the windows of his notebooks. From then on he decided to take his gift as a lyricist to the next level by becoming a recording artist. His fanbase currently stretches from Florida to New York as well as beyond national soil.
