Bio

Stockton, CA

In 1990 Tim was learning to rap from his uncle B-Smooth and hadn’t quite found his voice yet. After 3 years of studying under his uncle, who’s a professional Disc Jockey. He branded himself “Young-T”. Rapping about the harsh realities of his environment Tim rapidly gained popularity within his community. On his 14th birthday his uncle B-smooth recorded his first demo entitled “Siding for West P”. The demo was a smash. Though not released commercially, the demo was a success. This did nothing but drive the young rapper to produce numerous other hits. Tim kept in pursuit of his music career until his 18th birthday at which time he decided to join the United States Navy. After his discharge from the Navy four years later he released numerous tracks which received the communities praise. Tim started recording with rappers from Richmond, CA. The group “Ghetto Celebrities” was born. After the demise of the group in 2003 Tim decided it was time to call it quits and gave up rapping. He shortly after moved to Stockton, CA and began to hang out with his older cousin Paul Stelly. Paul was born in 1974 on the mean streets of Oakland, Ca. As a young child in the 80’s he was exposed to a lot of things. His parents were both very young and trying to deal with the pressures of life in Oakland. So, Marvin Gaye, Too Short, Rick James and Erick B. & Rahkim became and outlet and an inspiration for young Paul. The early 90’s is when he got his first real taste of life in the world of music. He wrote his first raps and performed at shows. He played a big part in the bay area music scene with his group “Misfits of Styles”, and graffiti crew “K.T.D.” He was also the only unsigned artist on compilations, such as 40/80 Magazines “Bay Luv”. He also performed at events such as the Gavin Convention in San Francisco. At these events he met with such artist as The Alkoholics, Bad Azz, Mad Lion, Kurupt, Nasty Nas, and Raekwan of the Wu Tang Clan. His music fuses together elements of the Bay Area’s Hyphy Movement and East Coast Hip Hop. Paul dubbed this style “D-Boy meets B-Boy”. In the year 2006 after teaming up with his cousin Tim the group SylenType was born. Boasting a powerhouse of hits such as; “Come Go with Me”, “Raider”, “My Hood”, “Crush”, and numerous others. The group obtained infamy on MySpace.com. Today, SylenType remains unsigned but they remain in constant contact with numerous record labels and artists in hope of someday landing the “Big Deal”.
