~ Self Conscience ~ Kurtis (Unique) Gomez, Matthew (Emjae) Joiner, Emily LaSalle and Emelyn Collazo Self Conscience, from the “rich” yet very grimy streets of Connecticut, has recently released a highly talked about hip-hop mixtape that needs to be heard titled “Return of the Poets”. Creating their own style and ignoring the "in" approaches so often portrayed in the hip hop genre, Self Conscience has dedicated their latest mixtape to the greatest rappers, poets, and singers who have died in the recent past. The Self Conscience members not only co-produced many of the cuts on their mixtape with local producers, but also have many local hip hop artists, club owners and radio stations promoting and proving that they are the next big act and putting CT on the map! They have received many phone calls from the people who received their mixtape and saw performances saying how they thought “This is what the game needs” and “Where have you been all this time?” With hopes to spread a more positive message through hip hop and the music industry itself, “SC” is definitely a one of a kind musical mastermind team.
