BIOGRAPHY OF GATES Larry Doweary aka GATES is not a young rhyme sayer with a dream. GATES is a young man with a clear mission in life. Born and raised in Bronx, New York; he was introduced to the rap game at an early age. Like every kid he had dreams for himself. Unfortunately, GATES did not grow up with a fairytale childhood. GATES was raised in a three bedroom apartment in the projects. GATES was the youngest of five kids. “Conditions weren’t the best but love got us through!” GATES father was disable and his mother was blind since childhood. “Rap was a way for us to entertain our own lives. My brothers rapped, my sister rapped”. GATES was inspired by rap’s greatest Biggie, Pac, Jay-Z, and Nas. GATES says “I wanna make music that brings tears to your eyes like Pac, with the ill lyrical content like Biggie, and the flow and swagger of Jay-Z!” Yet at the same time, create my own style and sound like no other. GATES, 23, currently resides in Norfolk, Virginia. He records and enjoys spending quality time with love ones. He was recently released from a federal prison; where he then hooked up with his manager at Highlandpark Entertainment in the Capital city of Virginia. “It hasn’t been an easy life, my sister died at 26, and my brother was murdered in 2001.” “I made some wrong choices in life. I forgot my responsibilities and neglected my talent”. After his mom passed away in 2003, GATES begin questioning his direction in life. He realized that he was made for the rap game. GATES now views life through divine insight. He is inspired by the struggle in the streets, but motivated by family and love. His faith is reflected in his music because his flow is Godsent! “I just wanna reach out to kids that are caught up in the struggle. Help them to see there is a way out. If I can accomplish that, then I have fulfilled my dream.” GATES
