Bio
Where do you start with a biog? Well, here goes, I have been making music, doing the funky kind of rap and oddball tuneful hip hop for about 4 years or so, playing in bands with all the usual mixture of great gigs and great arguments about who will make the tea. I always compare it to riding one of those strange bikes at a funfair where you steer one way and it goes the other; great fun when you get the hang of it but very frustrating when it goes wrong. I’ve performed at the Glastonbury festival bandstand stage, with the band Laserkid; (what do you mean you’ve never heard of them !?). It was one of the greatest nights of my life; pink skies, about 400 gurning faces, and the sensual aroma of septic tanks and cheap cider. Performances include the BBC children in need with Liberty X, Samantha Mumba and the now defunct (I don’t believe they ever had any funk) A1; (what do you mean you’ve heard of them!?). That was the biggest gig I’ve done to date. It was in Doncaster and I made the fatal mistake of going on stage and asking if anybody was from Doncaster. Biiiiig mistake. If you’ve ever heard a baying crowd of Doncastrians scream at the top of their voices you’ll realise why. It was a bit strange because it was a televised performance. Not at all like doing a normal gig. It’s not a case of, drink up the rider, get a bit pissed, the DJ will let us know when we’re going on; as normal. It was: (1) side of the stage - 8:30 pm (2) on stage - 8:31 pm (3) first chord - 8:31:23 seconds. I’ve played up and down the country at various places such as Moles in Bath. Legendary venues that have hosted various acts in their fledgling days. People such as Radiohead, Oasis, Moloko, to name but a few. And so here I am, with my first EP on the way, panting like a victorious greyhound, yet the race has not begun. My aim is not to be as good as the people that inspired me, because they were great. People such as Gill Scott Heron, De la Soul, Public Enemy, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, to name but a few. I just aim to make some bloody good music. Somebody once said, Don’t try and be a great man, just be a man and let history decide…...
