Please visit IZON PARADISE OFFICIAL WEBSITE: [link="http://www.izonparadise.co.uk"][www.izonparadise.co.uk] Izon paradise formed in 1990 and began, like many bands, by gigging the length and breadth of the country playing countless pub gigs along with one or two higher profile situations (remember Izon Paradise -Glen Tilbrook, Dr and The Medics, The Drifters?). Not unique in putting up with ‘play something we know’ they continued to play original songs, picking up support from small corners of all the venues they played. Naturally, front man Mick Masser now has a wealth of experience in coping with such banter as well as receiving a barrage of friendly fire from fans all over the place. The misfortune of guitar bands in the dance crazed 90’s did nothing to deter Izon, whilst the content of the material knocked on the door of the underground scene waiting for the realisation that the sentiment was exactly the same. The opportunity to literally gate crash the house party with ‘band stuff’ happened suddenly one winter night at ‘indeed’, a house party. Full of hippies, ravers and moderates, this gig saw the beginnings of a dialogue, some kind of conversation. It was obvious that something had changed or was beginning to. “I remember the look on those faces when we sang Fashion District. It felt like we were finally getting through” said Mick. The opening thus…”When the Fashion District’s out of bounds, what’s your line in rebel town” speaks volumes for the kind of thought provoking lyric to expect. Not to mention much philosophy that feels so obvious yet somehow never said. The music of Izon Paradise is truly eclectic. There is a bit of everything in there, which makes them very hard to pin down. They insist that the music is there to accommodate what goes on in the lyrics and loathe the idea of doing this style or that style. If the lyric is scary the music reflects this, calling on cultural associations to express the overall picture. This makes it deep. It is capable of creating images in the mind to the extent that it is, arguably, a visual art. The up to date Izon Paradise has recently had a makeover, realising that all this could be lost if they don’t get tidy. This has happened. All that experience has now had the treatment; A new back line of nice little Marshalls.. a new drummer (cool Dave) who has brought some real intelligence to the overall purpose. Mick built a studio to say goodbye to sound quality that masked the potential of the band. The results are magnifico but to Izon, not such a surprise. Now let’s get going… New album ‘a beautiful Anarchy’. Great quality, proper job. Class 1 attitude in personnel all ready to go. Top web site courtesy of guitarist Gavin and an image that’s not ‘wheel em on’, but reflects what it’s about and feels great. So; years of experience, great belief, original songs, great voice, stage performance that reflects the artistic content as well as sufficing some real entertainment, means that there’s a band out there. A real band with something to say. Will you listen?
