Bio
For a young boy inspired by hip-hop music, growing up in the middle of nowhere was never easy. His life started off normal but in a place of just that nature, St. James, Minnesota. In nineteen eighty four he was born to Nick and Ronda Carlson, and they never thought expected him to find an interest in such a foreign musical style. Especially since he had country and or classic rock thrust upon him every time he rode in the car with either of them. A few months before his fourth birthday, he and his family moved to the Minneapolis suburb of Buffalo. There is where he started school dressed in the latest local fashion: flannel shirts, ankle tight pants, and cowboy boots(yee-haw!). Basically what ever his mother purchased for him he wore, and usually that was the country bumpkin style. By his junior high years he realized that he wasn’t able to keep up with his classmates and not in just the educational way. He lacked a lot of points in the physical department as well, being under five feet tall, and not hitting puberty anywhere near the time everyone else did. He was seen more as a younger brother than a boyfriend candidate to all the girls and although he dressed in all the same clothes that the other boys of his age did, That’s why he was never a best friend candidate either, he was picked on more than anything. That’s when he lost himself in his headphones, listening to all types of musical genres, having a different respect for each one, but ultimately looking for the most inspiring to him. He first fell in love with punk rock music. He then found that he had more of a connection to the hip-hop genre anyways, besides the fact that he had already formed a swagger, he knew that hip-hop was for sure what he wanted to pursue musically. After meeting with a doctor who gave him shots of nutropin AQ six times a week, he grew to six feet tall as if almost at night while he was sleeping. This made him go for his dream even more, he just knew he could do it. By the time his senior year rolled around he had gotten into his fair share of trouble in all of his classes due to the latest hook or verse he was writing. After senior high, and just making it to graduation, he formed a hip-hop group with a couple of friends from school and they called themselves Urban Uthers. This is when he recorded some of his first hip-hop songs and made some of his first major mistakes with his hip-hop career. After writing more than recording he eventually gave up hopes for the Urban Uthers crew, and quit. Later on he came to find out that the songs he had helped to created were recorded by the remaining members and put on albums. He was back to square one yet again and honestly didn’t know what to do, but he couldn’t give up. He knew who he was and people respected him for that, everyone knew his dreams were real weather they were behind him and his dreams or not. He went on searching for someone who was going to help him to achieve his goal. He searched on the infamous myspace.com which led to unending meetings of trial and error, not to mention many alias changes. He tried out several serious ones such as Lay-Z and Explicit Truth, and even the humorous ones like Cheeto and The Real White Boy. He finally landed a winner, a great alias, Opie Burbs. Then he realized that he wants something for to happen to mainstream hip-hop music; he wants to change it completely. Because without ice, rims, big booty-ed women, and other materialistic things, the hip-hop today would be non-existant, and changing it is exactly what he intends to do.
