Ry Anderson was born in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia), Africa in 1978, and now lives with his wife in England,UK. At the age of ten, he peered over the fence and saw his neighbour through a window, playing the drums. And thus began his love for music. At first, he would listen to whatever albums his parents had; these ranged from Status Quo and Dire Straits to Cliff Richard, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. As he grew older, however, and learnt to save his pocket money, he started to buy things he had heard on the radio, Roxette being his favourite for a few years. Then puberty set in. He looked to his older brother for guidance, but found very little from the girlfriend-obsessed teen. He did, however, overhear Aussie band, Indecent Obsession, and sought to get his own copy. At sixteen, he bought his first CD player, and Sheryl Crow did the honours. The years flew by, and as he came to faith in Jesus Christ, he realised that there was much more to music. Over the ensuing years, thanks to artists such as Third Day, Jars of Clay, Newsboys, MercyMe and Jeremy Camp, his appreciation for songwriting, and music in general, grew. Having owned a second-hand guitar since he was nineteen, he worked hard at writing songs that shared what he was going through or, at least, what he was thinking. Being a drummer also helped in shaping the songs. In May of 2006, he teamed up with a friend in a home-based studio. With the help of other friends to play various arrangements on keys and bass (including his wife, Laura, on percussion) he set about recording a number of his favourite songs – some written as far back as 1998. Given that he still holds down a full time job at a college, and is also trying to finish his first novel for young adults, he has not been able to spend as much time on the project as he would have liked. However, to date, a number of the songs are nearing completion. What you hear on this site are the rough (ish), almost ready, demo versions of some of these songs.
