H.U.S.H. was started in 1999 while its members were students on the St. George’s College Chapel Choir. Now the trio H.U.S.H. is focused on doing the works of JAH. ‘Music for us is not just a career, it is a calling.’ H.U.S.H. has a clear mandate and a fresh repertoire. H.U.S.H. writes their own music which, as they put it, is spiritual, soulful, positive music for every age, race and class, all over the universe. They have recorded with the island’s top producers including Dean Fraser who produced the group’s single ‘Wishes (Letter From The Music)’ on the VP Records Riddim Driven Reflections album. They have started to record their album which they plan to release before the end of 2007. H.U.S.H.’s recent performances include a full length 2 hour show for the American Television Network the History Channel, at Fort Charles, Port Royal in February of this year; another two hour show at Palisadoes Park as one of the events related to World Cup Cricket and, most recently, a sizzling show at Christopher’s Jazz Café at the Quad Nightclub, New Kingston, to a packed audience and great critical acclaim. “The group demonstrated that individually they had good voices which, through training, and continuous rehearsal they have honed to harmonize exquisitely. They (show) a mastery of current and past popular songs which had the crowd raving for more. “They…displayed the results of good training through their stage craft, dancing skills, audience rapport and eloquent introductions of their songs. “ H.U.S.H. has a bright future if they continue in the same vein.” Charles Campbell The Sunday Observer June 24, 2007 The group adds these memorable performances to their pedigree of shows which have included the nationally televised ‘TVJ Christmas Special’, ‘TVJ Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Award Ceremony’, ‘Christmas in the Park and Summer In the Park Concert Series’ 2003-2005, ‘Tear Down De Wall An’ Build We Community’ ‘Pepsi Teen Splash’, ‘Portland Jerk Festival’,‘Bob Marley 60th Anniversary Concert - Negril’, ‘The National Bob Marley 60th Anniversary Symposium’ and the ‘Reggae Sunsplash Trails’. Andre ‘Dre’ Waugh - St. George’s College Old Boy, former chorister, and member of the Performing Arts Group. After graduating he attended 6th form at Calabar High School where he was also founding member of the Calabar High School Chapel choir. After high school Dre assumed directorship of the Calabar Choir, winning gold and silver medals and national awards at the National JCDC Music Festival 2003. Dre went on to study music at the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts where he was the voice student of the internationally acclaimed opera singer Dr. Curtis Watson. A founding member of the Nexus Performing Arts Company, Dre has done musical arrangements, served as stage manager, vocal coach and technical director. He has also voiced several commercials and has acted in stage productions such as the musical ‘Bedward’. Dre went on to train in Entertainment and Events Management. He has provided stage decor and stage management services for several national events. Dre sang on the recording choir for the Cricket World Cup 2007 Opening Ceremony, and was assistant co-ordinator/stage manager for the performing choir at the CWC Opening. Shawn ‘Bugzy’ Anderson - Old Boy of St. George’s College, member of the St. George’s College Chapel Choir, the St. George’s Drummers and College Band percussionist, member of the Performing Arts Group. Bugzy was a founding member and first Leader of the College’s Dance Society. Upon graduating from St George’s he attended 6th form at St. Catherine High School, where he participated in the various Performing Arts Department programs. Bugzy was a founding member of the Nexus Performing Arts Company and went on to pursue Dance Education studies at the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts where he continued to develop his gift and excellent skills of dance and choreography. Bugzy is an accomplished company member and principal dancer with L`acadco, A United Caribbean Dance Force, where he has trained for six years with the internationally acclaimed dancer/choreographer L’Antoinette Stines in the fields of Dance, Drumming and Stilt Walking. He has toured extensively, both nationally and internationally with L’acadco. Bugzy performed as a principal core dancer in the ICC World Cup Cricket 2007 Opening Ceremony. Kreshna ‘KJ’ Jones –At age 7 KJ was already a performer of Music, Dance and Drama in the Cathi Levy’s Little People and Teen Players Club with whom he toured extensively. This child prodigy, also appeared on the American Childrens’ Television Workshop’s Sesame Street, performing with his drums. While at Suthermere Prep. School, KJ won the Grace Thrillers Trophy for best overall performer at the National JCDC Gospel Festival in 1995. An Old Boy of St. George’s College, this choir member and member of the Performing Arts Group won several gold medals in the JCDC Music Festival. From St. George’s he moved on to 6th form at Meadowbrook High School. A founding member of the Nexus Performing Arts Company he, like the other members of H.U.S.H., moved on to pursue studies at the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts. He chose Drama Education, including Acting, Voice and Speech and Production Development. This has allowed him to explore multiple experiences through stage acting and teaching Drama in High Schools. KJ was a part of the recording choir for the Cricket World Cup 2007 Opening Ceremony, and was one of the acrobatic dancers in the ICC Opening Ceremony.
