Bio: Dewayne Williamson, also known as Dynasty aka Da Don, was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. Since he began his first album in 1998, its been a love of his life and his outlet for living life in the streets. His raw and rugged, yet polished style has made him unforgettable during his nine years in the industry. Truth and knowledge comes through on his tracks and his gift with lyrics let his creativity shine. The first artist to catch his ear was 2pac during his childhood. Dynasty continues to set himself apart from the crowd by creating his own style and refuses to try to be like anyone else. Dynasty\\\\\\\'s dedication and persistence as an artist keeps him climbing the ladder of success. He is a part of D.U.A aka Dirty United Artists which includes: Nolia, Lil Stix, Young Tay, J-Mills, P-Dub, and Miss Tish. Be on tha lookout for their album, \\\\\\\"United We Stand, Divided We Fall\\\\\\\". Dynasty has performed at shows in Nashville and surrounding cities at various venues. He has worked with artists such as Pistol, Top Notch, Donte Jones aka Mr. 615 Himself, and others. His stage presence has been felt by many. From internet radio to local stations such as Big Urbans Reality Show, IndieHits.com, and 92.1, He has made a lasting impression on the industry. His first album \\\\\\\"The Game\\\\\\\" was released in 1999, followed by \\\\\\\"Feel My Pain\\\\\\\" in 2004, and the current album \\\\\\\"No Way Out\\\\\\\" is soon to be released. When asked what his motivation comes from, he states, \\\\\\\"I am motivated by making my dreams come true, reaching my goals and becoming successful while doing it.\\\\\\\" Using his family, children, and music as his drive, you will continue to hear from Dynasty. \\\\\\\"No Way Out\\\\\\\" will be released in 2008. There had to be artist talking about what was really happening in the real world, not just the world where someone cuts an album and gets rich. This week I got a chance to review a Nashville based underground artist who works right here at Volunteer State Community College. Dynasty\\\\\\\'s new album \\\\\\\"No Way Out\\\\\\\" found its way into my hands and my CD player. You may see him working around the T. Wesley Pickel Field House, but on the weekend he spits \\\\\\\"the truth.\\\\\\\" As soon as you pop this album in, you feel an instant energy. It\\\\\\\'s not an overproduced, Wal-Mart edited, typical marketed hip-hop. It is soaked in emotion, pain, reality, struggle, and love for what he does. These qualities all come out in the music. In the fi rst track, \\\\\\\"Rap for the Moment,\\\\\\\" you are introduced to his reality. It\\\\\\\'s not a pretty one, it\\\\\\\'s not an easy one, but the listener can tell Dynasty takes pride in what his life is. The best tracks on this CD are the ones that are close to home. The topics that come close to his heart shine, like a diamond in the rough. In a \\\\\\\"When No One Loves You,\\\\\\\" and \\\\\\\"Letter to My Family pt 2,\\\\\\\" the reality hits you in the face. There is triumph in his voice, even when the subject is defeat. Every part of his life seems to have grown his rap and character. One of my favorite tracks on this CD had to be \\\\\\\"Do You Wanna Roll.\\\\\\\" This track would be perfect for radio play. Featuring fellow underground urban poet Pistol, this track brings movement and a groove. This is the perfect track to \\\\\\\"bump\\\\\\\" out of your system while cruising. Other great tracks on this CD include \\\\\\\"Work Ethic,\\\\\\\" \\\\\\\"Let\\\\\\\'s Talk it Over,\\\\\\\" and the B.I.G. infl uenced \\\\\\\"Momma.\\\\\\\" You can check out Dynasty live on public access TV, cable channel 19, Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m., and again Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. You can also find Dynasty on the web at myspace.com/duadynasty, indiecharts.com/dynasty or by email at [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]
