The rap game has been waiting for a group like “The Council” to explode on to the music scene, and now like an uncontrollable avalanche, this crew is ready to roll over any competition. Their music is addictive; their diverse and aggressive sound and stage performance evokes emotion out anybody that ever seen or heard them. These young rebels are reppin’ the next generation of the music scene. They came together as incoming freshmen at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. It was their love of music that caused these 3 artists and producers to come together in a homemade studio in their dorm room where they would cultivate a style that eventually led them to creating some incredible music. Soon the group started hitting the streets with their mixtapes, doing countless shows around their respectful hometowns of Detroit, East St. Louis, and Arkansas. Eventually, The Council earned a status for putting on hot shows. One of the highlights of their show was their performance of their song, “Smile” with their live band - it caused the crowed to go wild. Whenever the band dropped the beat and James Marshall started singing the hook, the audience would go crazy. Now, just when you thought that it was safe to make a club or radio song without any substance, The Council is here (Oill, Zaire, and Big James Marshall), making people get on the dance floor and still saying something with a message moving listeners hearts and minds. The Council is the epitome of self sufficient, they are self standing. They’re their own writers, producers, engineers and band for live performances, they don’t need to go to any big name artists or producers, they have it all it one group. Tha Council is a unit, that consists of 3 hungry, young artists with old souls that are ready to make their mark on the industry. They produce, write, and sing on all of their material. Zaire is the rapper/producer, Oill is a rapper/writer, James is the lead vocalist, along with the council production team. They want to bring back real music with emotion, lyrics, and a messege to the rap game. They feel its very rare to see a new young artist actually saying something on a record nowadays, because everybody is trying to make that " club banger" or hit song that sounds just like the next dude. Tha Council says, " we wanna make music that can stand the test of time like the great before us; like pac' or biggie, but creating our own lane or path in this game." It's too much bubble gum music out here, and tha council is about to change the game. [b]
