Whats good! This is ya boy TLane's music page for those of you who've made it here. This is where you can get a lil sample of some of the things that I do. I've always been interested in the rap game, but I never recorded anything myself until my freshmen year in college. I knew a lot of people that had already been doing this for a long time. I feel that Reidsville gets slept on because people feel that we're a small town and nothing really goes on down here worth talking about. There's a lot of niggas with a lot of talent who have a lot of potential to do some amazing things in the game if we were given a chance. I had always been interested in writing poetry and stuff of that nature, and I always had a love for music. I was a musician first, with the drums being my primary instrument. I've always had an ear for music and knowing what sounds good. Hip-Hop has always been one of mind favorite genres of music mainly because it embraces the black community as a whole not just through music, but art and other forms of entertainment as well. It was my nigga Will AKA C4 who actually got me started recording. We attended A&T together and he had been rapping for a while by the time I started, so he knew the do's and dont's. He had a lot of confidence in me and in what I was trying to do. I had already been writing since I was in high school, so I had a good amount of material built up to start a couple of projects. C4 had a computer studio set-up in his dorm room which would be where I would record my first couple of projects. The first song we did was "Mind on my Money", which featured C4 on the track. The track recieved good feedback though it was put on myspace as the unmastered, rough draft version of the track. Many talks of doing a remix are still in circulation. After the success of the that track, I met up with another cat that would become a close friend of mine also, Benny Hoffman. After doing a couple of single projects, We all collaborated on a C4 track which also recieved a lot of good feedback. I've gone on to do many other collabos with C4 and Benny Hoffman, such as "NY State of Mind", "Drop", as well as some production projects, such as C4's "Capital C". I have also been a featured artist on this website within my first week of membership. Thanks to all yall who made that possible I really appreciate it! I am currently working with my cousin to start an indie record label based out of Reidsville. We are in the early stages of development, but are making big plans and hope to make the venture a successful one. I will begin recording again hopefully within the next month or two. I have been doing a lot of writing so I hope to put out more new tracks and possibly have my mixtape done by the end of the year.
