DollyShot's story is anything but usual. As a matter of fact, some years ago DollyShot’s members were part of different bands that belonged to the underground scene of Lima, capital of Peru, a country located in South America. Eduardo Rebagliati, Guillermo Subauste and Renzo Bravo met each other in this scene, as all of them were playing regularly in certain pubs and bars with their own bands, even sharing stage in the same band, as special guests. As the friendship grew, some of these bands finished their journeys and Eduardo and Renzo decided to make a new band, and they wanted Guillermo to be in the band as well. They asked him and he agreed. The team was almost completed; the only thing missing was a bass guitar player. After some weeks of seeking, Christian Rebagliati (Eduardo’s brother) joined the band and the quartet was finally ready to make some music. That’s how, under the name of “La Ultima Fotografia” (The Last Photograph), the band started to perform in several venues in the city, and they performed in very other cities of Peru. Regardless of making music in Peru (which means speaking and singing in spanish), they grew up under remarkable music influences which were more cosmopolitan than anything. The connection they established with the outside world made their music evolve into different styles: Alternative, Rock, Punk, Funk, Soul and more, that turned out to give an own identity to their music. Even though things were working out well for the band in Peru, there had been a hidden desire on each member of the group for many years: show their music to the whole world. That’s why a new project was born: DollyShot. The main idea was to make some music that, in a certain way, could take a little bit of every single music style they loved. DollyShot hit the studio in August 2006 to record their first independent production. It took them 4 months of hard work, in which the quartet was in the studio everyday, giving up spending nights with their friends or playing in concerts. All the creative, recording, production and mixing processes were made by themselves. The passion for achieving their goals gave birth to 7 tracks that became Dolly Shot's presentation to the world. The response they've got has been great, especially in myspace. Lots of people have been supporting the band with comments, messages and diffusion on their own profiles. In order to continue with their music ambition, in May 2007, the band got into the studio for the 2nd time. The new songs "Sun's Bad News" and "Kiss Me When You're Ready" are a living proof of the band's growth; new funky and energetic sounds are the main attraction of these themes. The effort that the quartet have given also shows that, between the first 7 songs (August 2006) and the new ones (May 2007), the band has been practicing (experimenting with new instruments and music styles), learning about new music and, specially, working hard for their fans. www.dollyshotmusic.com www.myspace.com/dollyshot [email protected]
