[color="darkblue"][/color]D'Ray Lloyd, born and raised in the local city of Newport News, Virginia. This Talented and inspirational young man found his craft in writing and performing music, at a very young age. Growing up in the dangerous streets of Downtown Newport News, he was faced with difficult decisions and struggled through tough situations, where most would’ve crumbled. He often associated himself with his peers who were raised in the same conditions. "My mind is on my music and my money and I won't stop until I make it to the top," were more than words that he quoted, it was his dream. Raised in a single parent home, his mother worked two jobs to support the family, which only opened his eyes to appreciate the quality of hard work. At the age of 18, he was homeless but living from house to house, which later resulted to him dropping out of school. He work vigorously to get his life back on track, taking up any job that was thrown his way. As time went on, he eventually went back to school to get his G.E.D, and slowly started pursuing his career as a rap artist. During this period of time, he gradually started losing his credibility in the streets. Focusing on his goals finally paid off in March of 2006 when he released his first mix-tape, “I’m Back.” Selling close to 200 copies, he was eventually making his way back to the streets. Still faced with financial situations, his mother agreed to invest into his dreams’. She slowly produced more and more money to support him, while working on his first album. With her beliefs as a Christian, she didn't support the hip-hop lifestyle, but she believed in him. With his promise to his mother, not to let her down, he began looking for open showcases around town, for local artist. October 13 2006, he got his big break, performing in front of a live audience, at a local nightclub in Hampton Virginia. There he met featured artists from Point Blank Entertainment’s, Who encouraged him to never give up. Shortly after, he was introduced to a branch of local artist throughout Virginia. Being young, fly and flashy later gave him the name, Young Daze! Now at the age of 22, he’s more experienced in the music business.
