[i][b]Ryan James McCreary best known as R-Yung was born on August 26, 1987. He was raised on the Eastside of Detroit, MI. Despite his unpleasant surroundings, he considered himself to be a very positive person. R-Yung grew up in a loving, but very poor household. By being the oldest of out of 2 children he had to play a big role as being the man of the house. When he first discovered his ability to write music he was only 13. But at the time his mother couldn’t afford studio time, so he always kept a notebook full of rhymes. Between dealing with the streets and his parents divorce, music was the only way he could express his feelings. Shortly after getting recognized throughout the city for his good looks, he was given the name R-Yung aka The Pretty Boy of Detroit. Soon after performing in front of numerous of crowds, he was known for strong punchlines and his high intensity that he brings. Always keeping it real with himself and with his fans, R-Yung always wrote about what he has read, witnessed, and what emotions he was feeling at the time. His mother is the inspiration that keeps him focused and humble. R-Yung challenges himself by writing 1-2 songs per day in order to get good at his craft.
