Jre Riley BIO Imagine the sultry image of Carl Thomas combined with the fresh face of a young Will Smith and the raspy sound of Dino from H-Town, with the vocal maturity of the Legendary Luther Vandross and there you have it... Jre Riley. Jre, who was born Andrae Riley is a 22 year old Milwaukee native, solo R&B singer, songwriter that delivers a fresh new brand of original well written love songs with exceptional lead vocals along with brilliantly composed music and catchy upbeat lyrics. Jre has been blessed with many opportunities due to his God given talent, hard work, and perseverance. Jre prides himself on being the first artist from Milwaukee to featured on P-Diddy’s MTV’s Making The Band II. Jre decided to relocate to Atlanta GA and within one week of his being in Atlanta he won a chance to audition before P.Diddy in New York City. He auditioned at the Cotton Club (downtown ATL) he competed against over 1,000 extremely talented artists in a very intense 3-round competition. Needless to say, the judges were extremely impressed with Jre’s performance they selected only two individuals to audition in New York City. Jre was selected as one of the two he was also scouted by Kevin Wales of World Wide Entertainment. He was one of the judges and he approached Jre and gave him his contact information and asked him to stay in contact with him. Soon he was off to New York to audition for Diddy. MTV Making the Band II auditioned over 80,000 talents from all across the United States and Jre (pronounced Dre with a J), “did the damn thing.” Out of the 80,000+ that auditioned, he shined and was selected as one of the top ten of the thirty finalists for this band. Jre didn’t make the band it seemed that Diddy had other plans for him. P-Diddy and Kevin Wales wanted to sign Jre Riley as a solo artist through World Wide Entertainment the independent of Bad Boy Records. Kevin Wales who brought 112 to Bad Boy and Monica to Dallas Austin also assisted with the development of Boys to Men and many more. He wanted to develop the project then take it to Bad Boy. Unfortunately, the contract wasn’t in the best interest of Jre to sign, so he didn’t take it. So it was back to Hustle Mode!!! Jre and Mysterious also of Making the Band II hooked up and they decided to do an exclusive mix tape for Dj’s like Clue, Enuff and many more. Jre and Mysterious did 21 songs in 7 days. They did a song for Wendy Williams, one of New York’s top radio personalities and she played it as her intro for about 6 months on WBLS. His hometown praised him for pioneering the way for other talents here where he came from. He’s been told that he paved the way for many other artists to recognize that their possibilities can become realities because of the involvement and exposure that came with that first MTV Making the Band II series. Jre‘s motto is get up, get out, and go get what you want because it’s not going to come to you. MTV auditioned over tens of thousands of people for the spots of the finalists, Jre made it to the top thirty, now that says an awful lot about what Milwaukee has to offer. When it was time for auditions for Making the Band 4, Jre decided to once again audition and once again out of almost 100,000 that auditioned from across the country, Jre was one of the top contenders. He made it to the top 12 before being voted off by his peers (not Diddy). Many considered it a strategic cut to eliminate the real competitors. Jre took it with a grain of salt because he knew that there was other plans for him. His time on making the band garnered him a huge fan base and a tremendous amount of interests from record labels. Currently Jre is recording and fielding offers. Jre has been featured on Malik Yusef’s internationally distributed project “The Great Chicago Fire, A Cold Day in Hell…featuring multi platinum artist Carl Thomas, platinum producer and rapper Kanye West, Common, Twister and many others. He is also featured in the video of Malik’s first single produced by Kanye. It is entitled “Wouldn’t You Like to Ride” featuring Kanye and Common. His very first tour as an independent and unsigned artist was the Seagram’s Gin Live Tour a 30-city tour. He opened for Carl Thomas of Bad Boy Records & performed with spoken word artist, Malik Yusef of Universal Records. Jre has also been privileged to share the stage with Angie Stone and Anthony Hamilton on the Silk and Sandpaper Tour ( a 60-city tour that he had an opportunity to perform). Angie Stone gave props to JRE on 106 n Park and Anthony Hamilton stated “You need to keep your eyes open for Jre he is a true talent”. Since then, his credits consist of working with some major power player producers such as Little Ronnie (of So-So Def), No ID (who’s working very closely with Jermaine Dupri). He is also featured on J-Records new artist Rhymefest’s album on a song called Drifters. He has also had the pleasure of working with Dazz and Corrupt. Now finally after all the foundation laying, it’s time. Jre is currently working on his debut project. “ It’s time to utilize the skills and relationships that have been made throughout these past years to create This project. I hope that everyone will enjoy the smooth, soulful sounds of what I come up with”. Jre Riley is definitely on his way to the top. Keep your ears and eyes open for Jre Riley Note: Jre has been singing since he was 14; he is a self-taught singer he has had no formal training. Jre has been singing for fun since about 6 years old his father had a band that he used to mimic as a child, which later developed into what we have today.
