If music were in physical form, one of its greatest expressions would be Dana. Born in Denver, Colorado this musical prodigy has been taking shape & form since birth - Evolving into light daily. She has been singing every since her memory can recall, coming forth with a sweet & powerful sound. A voice that cannot be duplicated nor denied, she is sure to be one of the greatest vocalists of all time. With the Lord as her inspiration, she writes songs that bring life, strength & courage. It is her deepest passion to touch the world & sow seeds of greatness; it is destiny that she fulfills this calling. With a tone so pure in conjunction with a hip-hop beat, she is sure to attract the hearts & attention of all ages. “Young people know how to praise too,” she says. It is her desire to show people across the world that believers are multi-faceted. Embarking on fresh territory, her sound mimics none. Though it may cause controversy, the time is at hand to manifest the new generation of music at its best. Since youth, her abilities have been cultivated through the church; as is with most great vocalist. Budding with talents shows & opening for major acts. She has had the privilege to sing back up for Lyle Lovett, Dorinda Clark-Cole, and Byron Cage to name a few. In 2001 she was blessed to be apart of Heritage Christian Center’s nationally acclaimed CD project, “Send It Down,” for which she sang the title track. Her song was in regular rotation on BET’s Gospel Videos. Fully equipped with the anointing & the armor of God, she stands out to conquer her own. Tried through the fire, many obstacles have prepared her for such a time as this. Nearly losing her life in a car accident brought her to a testing point. Who will she be? What is her purpose? Who did God make her? These were some of the many questions she asked herself. Coming to the conclusion that her life was destined for immense purpose, she set out to achieve. “It is not I that I magnify, but Christ. It is my hope that I may decrease & that he may increase in me. He is the only great one,” she exclaims. Her cross over sound challenges the hearts of men. And with so many negative & sexually oriented songs today, the goal is to counteract the negative images the youth cling to. She intends to portray life in a way that does not promote fornication, promiscuity & all the other downfalls of society – all the while, breaking the charts. “It is time to promote substance, hip-hop started out focused on substance”. She strives to go beyond the fundamentals in order to progress to the next level. Some say its hip-hop, some say R&B, but she’s not to be contained. The foundation has been laid & watered; she can do nothing but grow. She will top the charts, spread the word and dance her butt off! And that, ladies & gentlemen, is a legend in the making. Enjoy!
