Julio Acosta is no rookie to the music business. As a multi-talented artist/producer/engineer, Julio has been playing the piano since the age of 9, and the drums since the age of 10. He began his career at the age of 12 at a project studio called Context Studios in the east village of Manhattan. Since then, Julio has been exploring and expressing his talents as a singer, drummer, pianist, producer, and engineer. One of Julio's first projects was engineering and playing instruments on a project for an Acid Jazz group on Atlantic Records called Jazzhole. Julio's roles in the endeavor included production, co-writing, and engineering. He was also featured in the video which was on rotation on BET. Throughout his career, he has been featured on Regis and Kathy Lee, VH1's Ru Paul Show, and on MTV's the Grind along with RCA artist named Robyn. More recently, Julio has done 6 tracks for an artist on Virgin Records France, and has traveled to Italy on a 21-day Latin Festival Tour which featured appearances in Milano, Rome, Reggio Emilia, Torino, and Venice. Julio combines extraordinary musical talent with a driven entrepreneurial spirit. He is capable of performing all production, recording, and engineering duties at his in-house studio located in the East Village, and has released his debut album, "Confused" 100% independently on his own label GPI-Entertainment, LLC. In addition to special live performances on the “Univision” owned generation Y new explosive cable channel “mun2” on their highest rated shows “The Roof” and “NY Underground”. • 2001-Twenty-one day Latin Festival Tour in Italy. Four city tour Milan, Rome, Reggio Emilia, Torino. Other artist on the tour, Hector Tricoche and kinito Mendez . • 1999-Performed at New Paulz College opening for Camron, M.O.P. • 1998-Travel to France, produce six tracks for Virgin Records/France recording artist. • 1996-Played drums professionally for RCA Records/Sweden Recording Artist Robyn Performed at Regis & Cathy Lee Show, MTV The Grind,& The VH1 Rupaul Show. • 1995-Helped teach kids about music production in BoysClub of New York. • 1994-Julio is a multi talented musician who plays piano, Played Drums professionally at local clubs like Tramps for Busta Rhymes, MC Lyte, ODB and Grandma Funk (club promoter).
