Smit Brown, his real name David Lee Brown Jr, has been in love with music as far back as he can remember. During his younger years, he was part of his church's choir. It was there that he was exposed to various instruments and public performances. Later on in his life Smit realized how much he liked rap and R&B and it's influence on other people. He and a highschool friend decided to team up as a group and create music together. They performed at venues such as Club Flow, The Name of The Game, and 69th Street Terminal Bar and Grill. The name of the group was "Major League", which split up two years later. Smit then linked up with another friend to form the lyrical duo known as "The Nomads". Three years after, they also split up due to mutual differences. Smit's message with both of these groups was sex, money, drugs, and violence. This later changed to topics that would have a better influence on listeners. He recently came out with his first single entitled "Don't Count Me Out", which explains his goals, his views on today's music, and his determination to suceed. Since going solo Smit has linked up with Kelly Holcombe with IFM Entertainment (Innovative Frame of Mind). He has recently performed at the Arena in Northeast Philadelphia and has several more shows coming up at various other venues. Now Smit is working on his solo album which is due to be released next summer.
