My Showcase Nyaka’s in the place nuff love… BIOGRAPHY __________________________________________________________________________________ In the Caribbean female artists are very abundant however very few actually make it to a level that can be recognized globally. Nyaka...Caribbean born with roots of Venezuelan, Scottish, St. Vincent and Barbados; is from the island of Trinidad and Tobago. This 22 year old artiste has a vision, in which she is surrounded by several steel pans (in addition to singing and dancing, she’s also a steel pan player) which she joyously plays as well dancing in and out between them. It’s a natural assumption given her total dedication to music since she was 9 years old, not to mention her sultry beauty and lithe form. Nyaka has studied and perfected singing instrumentation and stage performance since she was nine years old taking a break to attend University in Florida. Nyaka’s burgeoning career as a Caribbean Pop siren is taking off. This new genre Nyaka has managed to perfect is a blend of the international Pop style with a distinct Caribbean flava. “My music has to be Caribbean no matter what!! it must always have that flava, whether I mix Soca or Dancehall or Reggae with Rock n roll, Pop, R&B or Hip Hop”. This petite 'fire ball' as described in the Jamaica Observer 07/14/06, does not relent until the crowd is at her fingertips. And when one steps out onto the stage at the annual Sting, Jamaica’s premier one-night show, one knows that immediate positive response is of the essence and her distinct Caribbean Fashion sense of yellow and red Lubica designs (Nyaka’s personal stylist www.myspace.com/lubicafashion), as well as her command for attention with her edgy lyrics and distinctive soul voice certainly helped her win over the notoriously demanding Sting 2006 faithful (25000 plus heads). “I got great response and that helped to get me some attention otherwise in the industry.” Like opening for dancehall superstar Sean Paul during the Slovakia leg of a European tour for a crowd of 15000. “It was very cold,” she recalls, “but the great feeling was the love for the Caribbean culture and my music on the part of the Slovakians. They loved me! ”She’s since moved on from those adventures making Jamaica her unofficial home base (“I love nature and the outdoors,”) while pursuing a recording and performing career. My Boy and First Touch are definitely certified Pop Hitt Singles and have proven especially successful for Nyaka, who has toured several Caribbean islands in support of the First Touch single, garnering raves at each stop. The self-described ‘perfectionist’ remains single for the moment, focused intensely on her career. This Caribbean nature girl still makes time to experience the ‘real’ outdoors of the Caribbean. , “it’s just so much easier for me to come up with material, to sing to write, to just express who I am,” she says. Then I can take that Caribbean essence and showcase to the world.” Nyaka is multitalented and not only writes her own melodies and lyrics, but also contributes substantially in the production aspect of her musical compositions. Her lyrics can be described as sensual...bold...sassy...self empowering (girl power) and of course she is Caribbean blooded so she could be downright hardcore. But, this Caribbean Princess...Queen... exudes as her name means ...grace...sensuality...vivacity with her every move. And her cool demeanor is complemented by her warm smile and fiery eyes. She is THE upcoming Caribbean Pop Diva to watch out for.WWW.MYSPACE.COM/NYAKAONLINE and WWW.MYSPACE.COM/_NYAKA or WWW.TAXI.COM/NYAKA-MUSIC Check Mail Compose
