Growing up the only child of immigrant zzwho both have engineering degrees - lead guitarist wasn't a career option. It wasn't until after I graduated college that I realized I wanted to play in a band. Didn't know how to play an instrument yet, but the guitar always seemed like the one. So I took jazz guitar as it seemed the way to. Mandatory 3-4 hours of practice every day. A lot of luck too. I somehow won the daily lottery for a couple hundred bucks at the time some needed piece of gear just happened to be for sale. And winning a yamaha QY10 definitely helped my practicing.
