Bio

Steven was born in South London, way back in the day. He started off his hip hop journey as a body popper and cut his teeth by dancing for tourists in Covent Garden. Sudden impact was the crew that he body popped with, who went on to win the hip hop alliance UK B-boy championships and performed at large number of venues. As time went on and styles changed sudden impact slowly became fresh out da box. This was a time when break dancin was no longer seen as fashionable and hammertime had taken over. Fresh out the box didn't follow that flow they stayed abstract by mixing old school moves with new school moves. Due to artistic differences his time with Fresh out the box came to an end. After an offer of a show at London's astoria for that weekend, bad to the bone was formed. they linked up on the friday and performed on saturday. It was that quick. Bad to the bone were kept busy for a long time, dancing around the country doing shows, photo shoots, vids and fashion shows. They were sponsored by BSCO clothing, who at that time were BIG. Knowing that his dancing days were soon over Steven started to write rhymes and spit them over any funky instrumental. He spent ages writing and writing. At the Fridge nightclub in Brixton (Friday night with Soul 2 Soul, rampage and Boogie Bunch (RIP Swing)) he was introduced to DJ Quick from Lewisham who helped him by djing for him and letting him practise and hone his skill on the mic. Steven would record every session and play it to anyone who would listen to get their feedback. He worked on a number of projects but done made it to the final mix. In 1994 after a collabration with an ex member of loose ends went pear shaped, Steven focused on a different career and put away his pen and pad. In 2002 the bug started biting again, rhymes started screaming at him. He sat down and started writing and getting his technique back up to par . A year later work began with an ex member of cosmic jam and a new producer called phusion. They worked on a number of tracks together under the mantle of the 7th sign and a number of their tracks were put out on european mix tapes. Steven decided that the 7TH sign as a name was strong but overused by a great many people. A simple play on words and 72 the sign was born. 72 the sign is currently in production and will be completing a number of tracks including collabs and abstract projects. Watch this space.
