Artist name: Carnel Age: 19 Hometown: Hamilton N.C. CD title: “The Man in Me” My name is Darian "Carnel" Goss and I am the son of Charles and Carolyn Goss. I was born on April 19, 1988 at Martin General Hospital. I am the baby boy out of four siblings, two brothers and one sister. I am a 2006 graduate of Roanoke High school and now I am pursuing a long term career in the music industry. Every since I was a child, I have always been interested in music. Music has always been apart of my everyday life. I started playing the piano and keyboard at a very young age. My talent was really put to the test and taken to another level when I became a musician at my church. I have now been a musician at my church for four years. I have also been in gospel choirs, singing groups, and now I’m ready to do my own thing. I’m ready to let people see the solo artist in me. I have always loved to perform. I was drum major for two years in RHS band. I am no stranger to a crowd. In fact that’s the best part of performing, the feed back from the crowd, the people, your fans. I really can’t say that I have always wanted to be a music artist, but I believe that it was during my junior year in high school I started to see life in a new perspective. I started to see life from an artist point of view. I couldn’t help but write down my thoughts and feelings, turning them into lyrics, and then into a song. It became a habit, a good habit. Every chance I get I’m writing, I’m at my keyboard trying to get the right lyrics to the right music or even some times the music comes before the lyrics. Being a music artist has become a dream or more like a want for me. Something that I am not willing to give up. It’s who I am, it’s what I am, it’s where I see myself in the future.
