Ray Banderezz Ray Banderezz (aka Panama Ray) born Raymond Young Jr. from the South Bronx, New York is an African American rapper/ hip-hop artist. Coming from the birthplace of rap and hip-hop definitely has a lot to do with who Ray Banderezz is. Known for his metaphoric lines, free styling abilities and vivid visual lyrical skill; Ray is striving to be one the best in the industry. Originally from Crotona Park his two parents, his dad Ray Sr and his mom Lenell, raised Ray. As a young man growing up in the South Bronx wasn’t easy, especially at the height of the crack cocaine era. Known to all of his friends as Ray Boogie, a nickname given to him for the way he electrified the crowd with his break dancing. Such a versatile name would stick with Ray throughout most of his career. Attending James Monroe High School Ray would sharpen his lyrical skills everyday in lyrical combat. There were no shortages of dope mc’s in the Bronx back then and now. This explains his ability to make you see and understand what he has seen or done first hand. Fast-forwarding to the present He moved to Minneapolis where he changed his name to Ray Banderezz.
