DJ Starmist (Real name Sturla Tøndevoldshagen Sivertsen), born June 5. 1985 in Kristiansund, Norway. Grew up in the little town of Dombås, Norway, where he met his passion for music. When ace of base dropped their "Happy Nation" album, he became very facinated with music. And from there on a journey of a lot of artists made him very interested in how they made it. A lot of 90's artists and songs/tracks are what inspired him. When he was around 11, he was introduced to music making and quickly started out with cheap programs he could buy at the local shops. Such as "NewBeat's Trancemission," and "eJay." From that time he became more and more music- oriented and arranged his own small discoteques in his room and in their family's livingroom. He always invited friends over for music as a "youngster." Things accelerated and a few years later, he was making what was to him, his own musical plays. At around age 18, he had advanced to an aspiring DJ and Producer, and his songs were mostly inspired by the beats and bleeps you hear in techno and progressive house today. At age 19-20, he had moved on to being more of a trance-type DJ and started to make the trance-like music we have today, for example, in the electronic music- cultures of germany and holland. In the ages from 21 up to 24 (today), he has made for the most part "melodic trance" and "progressive trance".
