SilverStone - Spotlight Artist - March 2007 SilverStone is not your common rock band. They are group of artists who share a common goal of spreading their form of music to the masses in a positive manner. SilverStone's debut album, entitled "Redefine", is an emotional roller coaster which takes an in-depth look at the human soul and the struggle to overcome life's negative situations. The band, who incorporate a broad variety of styles and influences, bring forth a diverse hard rock sound while maintaining commercial viability and appeal. NWAnews.com :: Northwest Arkansas Northwest Arkansas Times 'Silver' lining: MySpace.com's No. 1-ranked unsigned band to release debut CD at George's BY KEVIN KINDER Northwest Arkansas Times Posted on Friday, April 13, 2007 URL: http://www.nwanews.com/nwat/WhatsUp/52084/ Members of Northwest Arkansas hard rock band SilverStone are all spry young guys in their early 20s. But in terms of life experiences, they are much more like wise, weathered men. How does a youthful group produce tunes indicative of seasoned sages? By living through hard times, said the group's lead singer, Caleb Enyart. 'We've just had a lot of negative things in our lives the past few years," he said. Band members have dealt with divorce, the loss of family members and, in Enyart's case, a car crash that forever changed his life. About six years ago, Enyart's father and sister were killed in a car crash in Wyandotte, Okla. Enyart, who was sitting in the back seat, was not seriously injured. His father and sister have returned to him in poems and other writings, and their inspiration is now immortalized in SilverStone's songs, Enyart said. Other band members similarly drew from their personal struggles, crafting songs that are real and poignant. "We're alternative hard rock with a hard rock message. We try to write about real things," Enyart said. The culmination of all that heartache has manifested itself in SilverStone's debut album, "Redefine," which will be released Saturday at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. Enyart, who has long used music as a coping method, hopes others can use SilverStone's music in the same way. The title track, for instance, is about making yourself better through the power of positive thinking. "It's about redefining your life and coping with that you are given," he said. "We want to refine music and ourselves through it." But music hasn't always been a part of band members' lives. Most, including Enyart, were working together at Sam's Club in Springdale when they decided to form a band. Some didn't even play instruments at the time. But three years of hard work seems to be paying off. The 11-track album was recorded at Springdale's Dream Makers Productions and was produced by Mike Bailey and mastered in Los Angeles by Ross Hogarth, who has worked with musicians such as Mandy Moore and Motley Crüe. Anticipation for the album is high, Enyart said, in large part because of social networking site MySpace.com. Each night for months, band members would take turns searching for fans of similar artists such as Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Shinedown and more and send them a link to their own site, hoping the recipients would listen to their music. The strategy worked well, and SilverStone is now ranked as MySpace's No. 1 unsigned band in Arkansas. The site also helped the band land its first major tours. A promoter assembling a collection of the nation's best bands without a record label selected them for a pair of tours that will take SilverStone to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix and Seattle in August and then on to yet-to-be-determined cities on a swing through the East Coast. In the meantime, the band is building its repertoire and performance abilities with gigs such as the one at George's. But where will those tours lead? Enyart hopes to earn a record contract and nationwide exposure. But he also remains faithful to the reason he started making music in the first place. "We want a No. 1-selling album, but we also want to create music that people can relate to and enjoy listening to," he said. * * * SILVERSTONE CD RELEASE Artist: Silverstone www.myspace.com/silverstone Format: CD Title: Redefine Track Listing: 1.)
