ENGLISHKID WWW.MYSPACE.COM/GRILLYENT If you were really keeping your ear on the ground in 2005/2006 then you will already be familiar with an emerging youngster named ENGLISHKID. His underground burner, Just Too Grilly, was heard on countless stations from Pirates (Bassline,WoahFM, etc...) to Legal ( BBC 1Xtra, Choice FM, etc). He also spent much of the past 3 years hosting every heat of the nationwide UK UnSigned Talent Search, he also featured on the acclaimed Keith Lawrence Goin True EP where his featured solo joint "Reppin for da Dirt" . The duo then Going on to win Ras Kwames, Dolly Parton "9 to 5" remix competition as voted for by the radio 1 listeners. Despite being a new name to some, this young talent has been putting it down solidly for over 5 years straight. Initially introduced in the mid 90s as Roach da Englishkid through a group he co-founded, Da Essence, he went on to make big contributions for their internationally renowned collective, Social Misfits, and their much celebrated double-album (The Society Documented) at the turn of 2001. By that time his skills were already being heard on the BBC Radio1 (Tim Westwood), Choice FM (DJ 279), Kiss FM (Big Ted, Shortee Blitz), etc. This also led to him being read about in Hiphop Connection, Blues & Soul, Touch, Rago, etc., and countless online magazines. In addition, he has also had his music featured on numerous other albums, compilations and successful mixtapes including 1Xtra/HHC Homegrown Best Youve Never Heard, the UMA award winning Split MIC Vol 1., UK Hustlers, UK Runnings, G-Hop, etc. But, that was then, this is now. Now duly rolling solo and tooled up with even more audio heat, the charismatic, energetic and much loved South-East Londoner is determined to make 2006 to 2007 his start-up. Though still capitalising on his previous efforts and experience ENGLISHKID is now on a new regime, still representing the realness in his own unique way and about to make major ground. With additional support from an array of co-conspirators, collaborators and producers he is also out to turn his movement, GRILLY ENTERTAINMENT into a force to be reckoned with. To spark things off he is currently pre-promoting his long-awaited official debut project, which is already gaining steady ground on radio and media support from his aforementioned supporters.
