Alex “BJ” Craciun and Razvan “Pachulo” Alstani - known as Chicanos have built the group's career and reputation from one simple premise: make great music and make sure the music is for real and it`s heard by everyone. The music scene is full of so called artists trying to impress either with their looks or with rumours about them, but for Chicanos is far better to give people music that touches souls deep enough to last a lifetime. The words "style, attitude, hypnotic rhythms and talent to spare" don't just describe Reggaeton; they also apply to Chicanos, the new musical sensation that's taken over Romania as these two young men are delivering their smooth blend of Reggaeton mixed with R&B and Hip-Hop to the world. CHICANOS - El Reggaeton Latino Rumano. Chicanos began recording that special blend of deep music with the group's debut single, "En Mi Corazon" in 2006 and their inaugural album, “Sa Dansam Reggaeton” (Bailamos Reggaeton), the first reggaeton album made in Romania, which can easily compete with similar albums from the Latin countries. CHICANOS - En Mi Corazon. The two boys were discovered and guided by Wilmark, a consacrated star in the Romanian media, born in Columbia, who named them Chicanos. Lyrically, too, the group breakes new perspectives. Alex goes deeper into exploring the side of his personality that most people don't get to see, and Pachulo brings life into it, giving the best sound to these strong feelings, with nuanced, impeccable and layered vocals. Equally sexy and ever so spicy was the group`s first video, "En Mi Corazon" a steamy shout-out to all the women. The song is infused with reggaeton's red-hot rhythms and smoothed out with R&B finesse. The result was a video super hot and really unique because of the way all of the different elements are combined. During their short existence so far, the boys appeared in the most important radio and tv shows. To sum up their top appearances, their first live performance was actually on the radio, during the famous show “Latino Party”, followed by hundreds of messages and emails from people appreciating their music. After the release of their debut album, the boys went on a tour, performing in the biggest cities from Romania. The tour started on the 2nd of June, when they opened the show for Pachanga, the famous Reggaeton band from Puerto Rico. Another important event, where Chicanos were invited to perform, was The Romanian Top Hits, where the boys were surprisingly nominated for the Best Group, with their debut single “En Mi Corazon”. Next to this nomination, the single was highly broadcasted on the radio and entered the most important Romanian music charts. After Chicanos succeeded in conquering most of the Romanian music charts, they prepared the 2nd single, named “Maria, Te Amo”, being eager to conquer also the international music scene. The single brings a tribute to all the women in the world, the boys calling them simply “Maria”, relying on the popularity of the name.
