EX is a talented lyricist who was born and raised in Harlem. His name represents his exacting approach to his craft and extraordinary style, exhibited as he exposes his life through music. From writing to recording to performing, EX has an unwavering love for music. EX is confident that he has the necessary skills, talent and ambition to succeed in his pursuits and believes nobody but God can take his music away from him. EX is a passionate artist and intelligent songwriter who embraces his emotions and shares his personal side with his audience. While growing up as a child, EX listened to artists such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder. At age thirteen EX became interested in hip-hop culture. Upon hearing works from artists such as Scarface and Nas, at age fifteen EX decided to share with others through music the feelings that hip-hop gave to him. While writing rhymes started as a hobby, over time EX became increasingly entrenched in hip-hop culture. As a teenager, EX spent a substantial amount of time in South Carolina. For EX, experiencing this spiritual and more relaxed environment provided an opportunity to expand his worldview and musical direction. EX returned to New York with a heightened awareness of the struggles of all men and an increased desire to share his music with listeners throughout the world. EX brings substantial charisma and a unique aura to both his recordings and live performances. EX has worked with artists such as Blackstreet, Bathgate, Posta Boy, Sacario and Jinx Da Juvy. He has worked with producers such as Teddy Riley, Michael Bivins and Jay Brown. EX has performed in front of audiences ranging from 500 to 10,000 people, opening for acts such as Dru Hill, KP & Envy and Blackstreet. Having witnessed many artists fall from the limelight due to diminishing efforts, EX is confident that he will stay on his grind well after success arrives. Through his lyrics, EX paints a vivid picture of where he came from, as an individual and as a product of his environment, and the places he is striving to reach. EX believes the journey he has undertaken, the obstacles he has surmounted and the challenges he has endured are all a part of God’s plan and with perseverance he will eventually achieve all of his goals.
