With so many artists emerging from the South, it begs the question: Why hasn't a female emcee risen to the movement's forefront? With a few exceptions, the history of the female rapper consists of frivolous beauties that are content with being seen and indifferent to being heard. Their credibility becomes lost in their inability to deliver self-written, self-lived lyrics. Even though sex sells, it can only get a woman so far in the rap game, especially when it comes to seasoned music listeners. Once people get past the cosmetics and glamour, they are going to want someone real, someone they can relate to, someone like Ms. Re'. Born in Bogalusa, a small town in southeastern Louisiana, no one would ever suspect Rachelle Keil was destined for the big time. Although divinely gifted with intellect and musical talent, a young Rachelle was forced to focus on the more difficult challenge of growing up. Her single mother often struggled to make ends meet and she became eager to make do for herself. In search of independence, she dropped out of high school (a mistake she would later correct) and hit the streets where she was first introduced to gang life and drug money. Before the age of 21, Rachelle had experienced heartache and heartbreak more times than she can remember, all in hopes of finding stability. She hopelessly watched her peers be consumed by crime, violence and ultimately, demise. It didn't take long to realize she was headed towards one of two places – prison or the grave. Hard knocks had taught her that self-respect and faith in God would lead to solid ground. These lessons, together with an untamable urge to free her inner self, led Rachelle back to her roots – music. With a soulful pen and commanding voice, her long lost persona took front stage. This newborn identity was christened Ms. Re'. While most would sweep a frustrating past under the rug, Re' paints a vivid picture for all who will listen. Anything anyone could possibly want to know about her can be found in her lyrics - from her heritage to her painful divorce. It's this raw openness, coupled with captivating wits, that has gained her countless admirers worldwide. As she often quotes, "Anything from the heart will reach the heart". Dangerously armed with wisdom, knowledge, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Boss Baby Entertainment was born – Re's very own label. Her debut album entitled "My Life. My Love. My Music." featuring guest appearances by Wacko (UTP) and the infamous GT's (Ghetto Twiinz) is slated for a late 2007 release. The lead single, "Swagger Daddy", has debuted on regional radio in New Orleans, Houston, Jackson and Little Rock. Adding hosting, modeling, voice over, ghost writing, photography, and video editing to her continual list of talents, Re' serves as a role model and inspiration for all. Not only is she in full control of her creativity, she's also establishing herself as a business woman. Ms. Re', the South's #1 Contender, has rightfully earned the title: "Da Boss Baby".
