Chayse Manhattan was born Adam Michael Shearer on November 4th, 1981 in Akron, OH. "The nickname originally started out as Chase because I felt that I was musically "chasing my dreams". I added the Y to Chayse because I liked the way it looked a lot better on paper. The Manhattan last name was added about a 8 months ago when a compliment came from another artist from the Chicago area said to me "You need to add Manhattan to your name cuz you is money in the bank fo' sho!" On that day Manhattan was added to Chayse and it's been that way ever since. Before I started rapping I was real big into Hip-Hop dance. Aside from the few parts of the dances from my old group that were choreograped by someone else. I basically taught myself to dance the way that I can now. From dancing developing in to wanting to D.J. and from DJing to wanting to entertain even more came producing, writing and now rapping. Music is something that I will never give up on no matter what. If a girl did to me what music has done over the last 5 years I would marry her now. That's just my way of looking at how much I truly am in love with music. And yes all of it.
