Bio
Caroline Hill Moore is an award winning film composer and songwriter who was classically trained and, at the age of eight, composed her first piano solo. After completing college, she studied music composition with Sherwood Shaffer at the North Carolina School of the Arts. She later studied music with Sir Leo Arnaud, who is most noted for composing “Bugler’s Dream” used as the “Olympic Theme." Caroline performs and works as a freelance composer and musician. She performs throughout Central Virginia as a soloist and with the Caroline Moore Band. Caroline scored the music for an independent full length Feature Film “Tumbling After” which won The People’s Choice Award at the Blue Ridge Vision Film Festival. She also scored the full length Feature Film “Dark Harvest.” LionsGate Films/Artisan Entertainment released this film in video stores worldwide on April 20th, 2004. Caroline scored a short film “The Joy Café” which premiered at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival 2006. This film won ‘Best In Show’ at the Accolades Film Awards 2006. She composed the original score for two of Darkstone Entertainment’s full length Features “Deceptors” and “The Jester” which will be distributed direct to video 2007. Harpo Productions Publishing Company has just bought the rights to two of Caroline’s music cues. Caroline scored "THE Raven" for producer Kristina Perez. She also scored music for the film “The Way We Live” for Seth Rubin which premiered in Burbank ,CA. August 2007. Caroline composed and edited music for many documentaries that are part of the Virginia School System. She writes jingles and production music for radio and television. Caroline also completed a 60-minute CD of original music for a yoga program.. Caroline composed the theme music for the “Lynchburg’s Most Wanted” segment of the cable television show, “Hill City Blues." Caroline’s songs are receiving airplay on radio stations in New Zealand. She is a featured artist on ERP Web Cast Jamboree on Live 365.com as well as being featured on several Internet radio shows at Echota Records. Caroline wrote two patriotic songs in response to 911. Both songs were played on radio stations in Lynchburg, Virginia on September 11th, 2002. One song was played during the “Celebrate Freedom” remembrance event. An ABC television station chose the patriotic hymn, “America: the Proud, the Brave and the Free” as the closing music of a televised version of “Celebrate Freedom.” She also has chaired the Film Composer’s panel for “The Vision Film Festival” for 2005 and 2006.She has her own Publishing Company Caroline Moore Music Publishing.
