Exponent3 Why this name? Exponent: One who explains or illustrates,a representative,etc. If thats not an Emcee...I'm not either. Do you play live? I've been known to rock the mic here and there. and I'll be known to rock another. How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? The internet change the game drastically and i think artist are adjusting to it by posting tracks over the internet in order to get a jump start and be heard on a larger scale with some control. Like wise it has also damaged the industry in that you can either buy every album by your favorite artist, or DL a discography. The problem is DL's are usually free and can often in cases of major label distribution the copyright is infringe upon. But if you have no major label backing you and your trying to through down and break into the business of making music as a career, something like the media of MP3 podcasting, net radio of various capacities are crucial and with out them we may all very well not here anything that didn't get signed by an "Idol" corporation or Regis. Would you sign a record contract with a major label? As long as i wasn't getting totally jerked around and had the creative control I deserve. Exponent's History: Exponent has been rapping for near 17 yrs in the underground scene through out the K-W region, Formally of BMP, a group of rappers from Cambridge and surrounding area that through party's with Open Mic's etc, later to leave the crew for personal reasons as well as we were all kinda doing our own thing any way. Hanging up his microphone for a couple of years while raising his family, Exponent took up Makin' beats when he first found Fruity Loops 3.1 and Acid pro 4 .....after pissing around with that and updating its Versions he found Reason3,Nuendo3, and Recycle and started banging out the RED DENTED CAN PRODUCTIONS sound to what you are about to hear. Your influences? Old school.......... BDP,Tribe called Quest,Leaders of the New school,Busta Rhymes,Beat nuts, Main source,Pete Rock and CL smooth,Rakim,Notorious B.I.G(R.I.P),Tupac,Grand master Melle melle,Grandmaster flash and the furious five,Eminem,Dr.Dre,Tone Lok,Young Black Teenagers,Public Enemy,Pharsyde,Ludacris all of Hieroglyphics's.. east coast to west north to south. All the heads out the T dot..Kardinal,Tough Dumplin,Nefarious,Maestro,Kish,Monolith,Daneo,Socrates's,.... the list goes on but I'd get carpool tunnel typein them all out. Favorite spot?
