Bio
I first began writing in 2001, this stemmed from beat boxing and banging on the tables in classrooms and developed into wanting to write. I probably wouldn’t of started rapping if it wasn’t for Drunken Master and Killa Flames who got me into it properly. And they were the first to start performing. From this we met up with other artists from different areas in Northampton and started going to a studio near the Town centre. We would record there, and practise freestyle and just jam making music. The talent that we had in that studio, I have to say was some of the best I’ve ever heard. There is so much talent in Northampton, but no outlet, THIS WILL CHANGE!! Some of the members of the group that went to that studio formed a cru called ‘Wolfpack Family’. That consisted of myself, Bubs D, Drunken Master and Priest, other people that were close to the cru was Broomsey and Red Eye Jedi…remember the first tune broomsey did, was fucking wicked…keep on it mate. I remember going to Roadmender every Wednesday and Saturday to practise my skills on the mic, back then I was spittin to Garage and just venturing into rap. We used to battle a lot as well, especially with a cru called Slu Dem from Northampton, thinking back to it now…it makes me laugh….good time but bad rhymes…but its all part of it, have to of gone there to be where I am now…lol…From that Road mender youth club place upstairs, brought my first shows in the Road mender main rooms, which gave me the first little taste of what its like and the buzz that comes with performing. The bloke who ran the youth club place got us a performance to do a set in front of the Mayor of Northampton, at the Guild Hall in the town centre, which was cool….I remember spittin a freestyle about him…fucking funny times ay!!!! I started going college at these times, I took up the subject of drama…acting that is…a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts….I love performing on stage and reading plays as well…all types of books really….Remember knowledge is Power…..Never Underestimate the power of words!!! At college I met a lot of other people that were doing music, a lot of producers rappers and mc’s and there was a studio there where we could practise and record for free…WOW ….free, That’s something you don’t hear a lot of nowadays…4real….Some of the people I met were other artists like Red Eye Jedi, Biggs, Michael, Lincon, Ninja and loads of others….. there isn’t enough space to go on so don’t think I’m rude I just cant remember at the mo..your not forgotten. In 2003 I audition for drama school in Camden, London. I got in and moved to Camden town, I studied drama for 2 years, and I entered my first battle in London at the O’Bar in Camden, where I came 2nd, didn’t win it but I went on my own with no people, so I done pretty good I think seen as everyone had about 20 people with them, but still I learnt from it and got better from my failures. After that show I was approached by two producers, from Belsize park that had their own Apartment with a studio in there. When I got there, there was a games room, pool table, pinball machine the lot….well that’s where that stops…don’t mean any disrespect but the beats were just not up to scratch…all the equipment but no propa work ethic…oh well, we learn. After that I met a producer called Active, he had his own label called BIG FAT ENTERTAINMENT, I work with him for quite a while, he made some nang beats and I began to take it more seriously there. He helped me improve my writing technique…so thanks goes to him. Whilst I was at drama school, I was giving the opportunity of working with a renowned Jazz musician Ian Shaw…Google him if you fancy listening to his music or finding out who he is. I performed at the 606 Club in Chelsea which was an eye- opening experience , if you don’t know the venue its like a restaurant of about 70 and then a raised bar at the back where people could smoke or drink. A real stereotypical jazz venue. Most of the set was improvised. I started beat boxing and then one by one each musician joined in, first the Drums, then the double Bass, then Guitar then piano. Ian sung the chorus and I free styled and spat a few pre-written as well. At the end he began scatting, a term you might be familiar with. In all it was a inspiring event that all together changed how much I wanted this…the mission began. I also was invited to perform with Ian Shaw at his opening night 2006 Tour of his new album, with some brilliant musicians. Was something I’ll remember forever. When I was still at BIG FAT, I met Traf and started speaking about plans for the future, ideas and opinions on how the industry was going at that time and what it needed. We had the same ideas so we began meeting up more, and free styling and writing tracks and then when we was sitting in my bedroom in Camden one day, and we decided to form a label called Undermine Recordz, we went through a lot of names but the right one finally got chosen….and I do remember who else was there….Doubles…James!!!! Thanks for the help and making us all laugh….you’re a joker!! And a valuable member…family!!! From there I introduced him to Nukie, who I met at drama school and funny enough they knew of each other from back in the day…small world!!!! From there it all started growing…growing and growing!!! More producers more artists kept coming…MALI…CASPO…RV…DOOM…TIWA…TUBBS…IVORY…CHINO…BAY…RIVERS…RAF all the MOVERS…MASTER RICH…FLAMES…AND SO MANY MORE…The vibe and energy we create when making music, is what I think appeals to people when they meet us…and that we’re open minded. It’s the Undermine Logic….you’ll soon realise!!! We have loads in store in 2007, so wait and see and be prepared to be amazed by a roster of artists with so much talent it will change how people see and stem their view on music being made in the U.K!!! THE TIME HAS COME!!! UNDERMINE RECORDZ
