Bio
South Beach, Miami is never destitute. The streets are laced with fine dining establishments, faddish boutiques, and renowned nightclubs where V.I.P is the general admission. The nationally regarded tourists attraction has no idea what or rather who inhabits one of its high trafficked suites. At first sight, he’s quite unsuspecting. But daily, he slips past the delectable dishes of fine-diners, past the flashing lights of the glitzy clubs and chic boutiques and into his “workshop”, his “think tank”, the studio. Here, he takes the cliché’, “Where the magic happens”, to another level. He, Derrick Eady, known to his fans as Eady, sits before his 32 inch composer’s screen, fingers gliding across the keyboard, head bobbing, eyes closed, lips moving furnishing words that rhyme. He doesn’t just rap. He is indeed an artist. When asked to describe an early memory that connects to his musicianship, Eady smiles, tilts his head slightly giving full view of the coarse, thick dreads that flow from his head and says, “Beating on tables”. It sounds simple enough, but for Eady, it was just that…simple, synonymous to breathing. He beat on tables until they transformed. Those tables are now beat machines and he is undeniably on his way to greater realities. The vehicle: Hits like “Dope Pusher”, which has generated an insurmountable buzz in the Miami area. The production of his anticipated album has got music venues holding their breaths, waiting on its release so its listeners can breathe. “Nationwide is where I’m going”, said Eady, “No ear will be new to the prophecy known as my music.” In 2007, Eady took his career aspirations to another level when he joined the Big Bank Music Productions family, a Miami-based record label with an appeal that precedes its name. CEO’s Giraldo “Latte” Nelson and Jacob “Kane” Nelson agreed that Eady’s musical career had begun to take flight. “I mean, we’ve heard a lot of ‘good music’ and have seen a lot of talent, but we’d been following his building buzz and were ready to put some money behind him and build a team”. Today, the label acknowledges that Eady is the “lifeline and heartbeat” of their growing success. They are not alone. Crowds litter his performance venues nodding rhythmically to street single “Dope Pusher”. “Dope Pusher’s” tangible appeal has breached Miami’s sound boxes branding it as one of the most anticipated singles to come. He has graced the performance platforms of places like Club Rolexx, The Polo, Take One, and a number of community venues. Miami is bursting at the seams sending him pouring throughout the rest of the south. “I intend to be one of the world's richest rap tycoons, a world where Bill Gates along with Donald Trump are my personal assistants. Now that’s ‘Real Nigga Shit’,” he said.
