Bio

Olivedale

Born to sing, this starlet with her husky and sensual voice hit ESP Records' horizon with shattering power when she won the Pubstars 2007 contest hosted by Da Vinci’s Pub & Grill in Pretoria Gardens towards the end of 2007. When Charné entered the contest, she had no idea how it was going to play out for her. The twenty year old diva-in-the-making was born and raised in Pretoria and has been singing professional since early high school. Over the past six years she has performed at various venues (Big Five Boma, Sun City, East Rand Traders, Ilala Palm, Cock & Tail, Tanza Night, just to name a few) with well known professionals in the field including Heinz Winkler, Juanita du Plessis, Lance James, Sally Vaughn, Tommy Oliver, Clive Bruce, Kurt Darren, Robbie Klay, Tommy Dell and a host of other artists. Winning the Pubstars contest is both a dream come true and a new beginning for her. She has proved herself equally comfortable in the studio as she is on stage and mastered the new lyrics and melodies within a mere few hours under the ESP Records CEO, Paula Erasmus’ direct guidance. Paula whipped up three original songs to fit Charne's unique vocal style, and though they knew she had brilliant talent, they never expected the outcome! The debut extended play album, Strangers in the night, was release on 28/03/2008 at Da Vinci's Pub.
