INTRODUCTION RAYMOND WRIGHT is well worth exploring for the many felicities in his songs and his lyrics…. The selection of songs in his new forth-coming album “Many as one” shows what a skilful and moving singer/song writer Raymond can be. He has all the ingredients, unique husky vocals coupled with heart-felt lyrics, delivered with power and passion… Even though he has a unique voice and a style that only identifies with his own, he can be compared with vocalists such as, Luther Vandross, Beres Hammond, Luciano, Barry White, Maxwell and Michael Bolton. BIOGRAPHY: JAMAICAN Born in St. Catherine, Jamaica on November 11th, 1971, Raymond started his career by playing a variety of musical instruments and singing in his local church in Jamaica. He also conducted singing lessons to the local church choir. His Spiritual devotion and love for the Church, led him to study Theology, which he successfully obtained a Theological Degree! Raymond had another passion, Music and Singing. He decides to follow his heart to pursuit a career with in the Music Industry. SHOCKING VIBES CREW: Raymond Wright started working with “Shocking Vibes Crew”, in 1998-2001 Under the management of Patrick Roberts, who also handled the careers of Beenie Man, Bling Dog, Tanto Metro and Devonte. During the three years that Raymond worked under the Management of “Shocking Vibes Crew”, he appeared at various local gigs and major concerts in Jamaica and throughout Europe, as well released a number of singles on the local Independent market in Jamaica, song titles, “To H.I.M.”, “When you call on me”, “Just for Love” and “Always”. Other Single Tracks include “Always”, “Critic Highway” and “Honey” feat. “Twiggy”. Music Producer collaborations were, “Sly Dunbar”, “Jack Radicks”, “Fitzroy McKenzy”, “Pirana” and “Barry Ohare” RAYMOND PARTS COMPANY: Raymond parted company with “Shocking Vibes Crew” in 2001 when he went to Italy to perform at “Rototom Sun splash”. He is currently living in Italy. During this time, he released another album, "Point Black" under the label of “Rasta Snob Records”, also in the local independent market. Raymond currently performs at various local and other European gigs and events. A STAND STILL: After many promises and dead ends, ones identifiable with in the music Industry, together with poor and unsupported decision-making, (the decisions one makes during clouded moments), proved to be a major set back in Raymond’s Recording Career and Life, but mostly, caused serious delays with his Recording Career. However, Raymond remained Focused and Motivated due to the Love for his Music and the Achievement toward his Ultimate Goals, despite all the Disappointments. NEW ALBUM Raymond has currently finished his “New Album” entitled “Many as one”. Nineteen “Breath Taking” Songs and Lyrics. Some may relate to his songs as “Autobiographical”. They are full of human emotions and will find their way into your minds and hearts when you listen to them! They not addressed to any individual, though some of the songs are about Raymond’s own life journey and come straight from his heart! When he said he writes from the heart, he was not kidding! The "Genre" is “Reggae”, and audible by all, and beyond the “Reggae Enthusiasts Imagination"! Even though Raymond’s roots are Reggae, he is a versatile Vocalist, who serves R’n’B and Soul-Lovers the same. The personable singer knows how to fascinate and captivate his live audience who love him and his New Album “Many as one”. INSPIRATION “Jah gives a simple and right word in every situation in regards to the birth of my songs. My children help me to maintain focus and to write songs of love and education.” Raymond continues, “While the world goes on, he says, it is quite simple for humanity to be at peace with each other when we invoke the most important ingredient, called LOVE and I love spreading this message through my music and share it with all”. He goes on to say, “in my heart, I am always looking to find the “Better Place”, there is still beauty in the world if we look deep enough, places, people and the special moments of life that you share with your loved ones, all of this inspires me and motivates me to write and sing my songs”. He took a deep breath and continued; "I made some wrong decisions because all I wanted was for my music to be heard I didn’t care who got what, money wise, but I didn’t expect the final out come”.
