Radio Starz Detron c. Walker (born May 4, 1988), better known by his stage name “Radio STARZ” and also by his alter ego D-mac., is an American rapper, songwriter, actor, philanthropist. Radio Starz was born in Washington, D.C. He grew up in the Woodland neighborhood of Southeast, D.C, the son of Yolanda Walker and Varnell Powell and grandson of Hadiyah and Akbar Muhammad. His original stage name, STARZ., stems from his childhood nickname which he got from his grandfather. Radio Starz was first exposed to hip-hop at the age of 10 yrs old, and by the time he was 11 he had decided to pursue a career in rap seriously. And at that time hook up with a group name Young Ballus. And not to long after that Radio Starz seen that he can do it all on his own so he did he signed his first record deal at age 16 yrs old. With and indie label by the name of Bird Records which was a label under Universal Records. Which dropped his first single “get it on a Sunday” and “I just don’t know”. And featured on a label mates album by the name of MIMI Terrell. Due to his East coast drawl, many fans mistook his name for “Star” which many thought was a female name, so he began spelling it as “STARZ”. Upon signing with Bird Records subsidiary Universal Records in 2004, he changed his name to Radio Starz. Out of respect for label mates Trap Stars. He is also known to go by “MR. MAKAWISH” and the self-proclaimed “Star of rap” (which has created several cases of controversy between other underground east coast rappers, such as Airport tone and Pacco). In 2006 Radio Starz began to pursue a new path in music which was R&B. And decided to stick with it. He started as a songwriter and co wrote Raheem dahvaughn hit single” believe in me”. Radio Starz. is known for his rapid-fire delivery of lyrics. There has been some noticeable change in the way he delivers his lyrics throughout his career. Earlier on, he flowed in a slow-like, southern fashion which can be heard in songs like “Body Rock”, “Money is a must” and “This that an the third”. In the second era of his career, he sounded more relaxed and laid back (ex. “Backpack”, “I gotta place”, Radio Starz is working on a new album which includes rap, R&B and neo soul.[color="black"][/color]
