Lyndon has been in many bands since forming his first in 1997 aged 13. Cajoling his friend Jacob Shirley to play Keyboards and with a willing drummer by the name of Eddie Edwards, they played a few gigs around St.Ives before realising they needed a second guitarist. The newly 'christened' Phoenix with the addition of James Wills on lead guitar, played many gigs and competitions in Penwith - finishing in the top three for two years running in the 'Western Hotel Talent Contest', and play at the BBC Music Live Festival in Marazion. College soon followed, and with a name change to 'Deeper Water' with a new bass player called Anne-marie and a new drummer by the name of Daniel Payne, the band settled into their late teens playing at college functions, the local clubs and bars, and winning an 'anti-drugs songwriting' competition. The competition was staged to raise the awareness of drug use in young people and was supported by many local businesses and organisations. Lyndon temporarily left the band in early 2001 to set up a group with a few friends old and new, called 'The Loungeroom Lizards'. Eddie was back in the drum seat (having sold his drums, he was borrowing from another local drummer Ben Harris), and with Bryan Howells on rhythm guitar, and Matthew Richards on bass they were aiming for a more guitar orientated sound. After one gig and a lot of beer drinking the idea wasn't really working, and everybody went their separate ways. A few months later Deeper Water were back with the same lineup as before and with an album's worth of original material under their belts, went out to attack West Cornwall full of piss and vinegar. The band once again journeyed around Penwith and Kerrier, honing their set of originals with a few covers thrown in for good measure, and climaxed in 2002 with the Queen's Jubilee. With the band thouroughly enjoying themselves and Jacob now on bass duties, playing on St.Ives waterfront in high summer almost felt euphoric. And with a few strings broken along the way, a few members of the band knew this was to be the last hurrah. Soon after the group disbanded. Jacob and James went to university in London, Daniel became a security guard, and Lyndon started working in kitchens. Lyndon has spent the last 5 years writing and recording his own material at home. Collaborating in 2006 with his partner Anneka to form 'Botallacker' - with Lyndon on guitar and both providing vocals, it proved a hit with the locals. The duo played the Lafrowda festival in St. Just, and a few other small shows around Penwith.
