Young Flames The King of the Midwest To The hottest, amazing, blazing, dynamic 20 year old prodigy Stephon Turner A.K.A Young Flames The King of the Midwest, rapping is a second language. Unique and like no other because the instant he hears a beat he has many new songs floating around in his head. What separates him from the average superstar is his versatility, it is immaculate and on point. Flames Grandmother tells people that when he was born he didn't come out crying he came out rapping, literally. His parents split up before he was born and flames started living with his mom Sentia Johnson and grandmother Sandra Johnson on the mean streets of Akron's Westside while his mother was still in high school she was trying to become a law student and was the best basketball player in the city . After graduation she and Stephon moved to the crazy streets of the north side of Akron, were he learned the hard knock life and were Stephon got his nickname "dope boy" by being the son of the biggest drug dealer on the north side of Akron .Soon the tables would turn, Stephon's dad was in the navy and was released because he tested positive for cancer and his mother became a drug addict. She became an unfit mother, so Stephon’s dad tried to step in and do the right thing so he moved to the upscale of Akron's eastside. Marshall Turner, Flames father, a former rapper "MC Brue" introduced him to the rap game at the early age of 4 and Stephon was named "King Steph". Stephon’s father entered Stephon into a talent show with him .When they stepped onto the stage the crowd instantly went crazy .Stephon Stole the spotlight from His father and won the 1st place trophy .He did this when he was only 4 years old .This got him popular in Akron and Cleveland by being so young and talented. He won 5 talent shows before he even started 1st grade. One show in which he won, his competition was Bone Thugs-N-Harmony before they got signed to Easy E at Cleveland ‘s Shaw High School. He later recorded his first single and was in several news paper articles. Stephon's mother was sentenced to jail time for stealing and drugs and ended up doing three years. Stephon Grew older Marshall wrote Stephons raps for him and was his manager who tried to run the whole Show .Which got him a local deal with Cleveland's Daddy O Records which got him major offers but they were declined .While with daddy o records he opened up for several artists such as Too Short, Ice cube, Master p, Lil Wayne, T.I ,After 7, James brown and State Property .He has even won the 2nd place trophy at the Apollo. Unfortunately the label wouldn’t release him after 100's of offers and being selected by Fox 8 news, Cleveland and z.107.9, Cleveland’s blazing Hip Hop and R&B as the number 1 rapper in Ohio at the young age of 11. He didn’t care he still did his music and loved performing around the northeast Ohio area . During the next few years his mom was in and out of prison, which put Stephon and his brothers and sisters in foster care. Stephon then moved out on his own at the young age of 16. He dropped out of school and started making beats, selling drugs, gang banging and doing songs with local artists around the Akron and Cleveland area. Freestyle battles Is where he got his name "flames.” The MC of the show told people this boy is on fire and he spit flames. So he decided to switch it to Young Flames King Of The Midwest .Why the king of the Midwest you may ask ? He picked that name because he said “Some people claim the streets some people claim a block’’ but he wants to battle the whole Midwest. He decided to make the change at the age of 18 that when he got out the contract with daddy O Records returning back to high school and record a mixtape called the most hated which he only sold at school so he could survive . Late 2004 Stephon teamed up with friend up coming producer by the name of DJ Hott Scott and made a hit so big nobody saw it coming. Their hit single was 2-step in the club. The next summer of 2005, with crazy radio play, the song got the attention of Mark Limicka, Manager of Ciara and Petey Pablo, of Jive Records .They promised Young Flames & DJ Hott Scott a record deal with a $250.000 signing bonus, in which the contract was “Too binding.“ as said by Hott Scott‘s Mom. That didn’t stop them, they went out and started recording an album, and added on Joe Millionaire, a young hot producer from Akron, that produced local rapper Popeye’s debut album called “Strictly Business” . After a feud between Popeye & Joe Millionaire, Joe decided to join Young Flames & DJ Hott Scott .The summer of 2006 "Straight Outta Da Crackhouse " hit the streets, Young Flames Underground Debut sky rocketed up the Charts the press jumped on it. The CD made it to #1 of the top 5 local rap albums sales in Akron, Ohio and had his own column about the album and his life in The "Reporter" newspaper. Young Flames also locked down the entire Show "Akron ’s next to blow. " (It’s a show where local rap videos are played he was the first artist ever to host the entire show.) Being on top got Flames a lot of hate mail and crazy phone calls but that wouldn’t stop him .Plus on top of that Young Flames & DJ Hott Scott got in a feud and decided to go there separated ways. Now he and his team of producers formed a production company by the name Strictly Street Entertainment. It consists of Producer Joe Millionaire, producer Jack frost, rapper Problem Child and Powerhouse producer J.I. who is Joe Millionaires older brother. He produced tracks for artists such as Stock xchange of Koch Records, Ampichino of Double F Records/smoke-a-lot, Tha Jacka of Fontana/Universal, Chubby Baby of Diplomat Record/ Headbangaz Productions And on top of that produced Lil Wayne’s Postman song which was the most downloaded song on the internet summer 2006 .Now with a stronger drive and a power team Young Flames and his team are working on Young Flames national debut CD title ‘’I Just Wanna Rap’’ which already got Attention of a movie producer and his song Money, Money, Money produced By Joe millionaire will be Featured in The Players School Movie a spin off of the VH1 Television show starring the girls from The Flavor Of Love.
