Bio
Manix Biography Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and you will discover one of the hottest R&B/Hip Hop groups to rise out of the Yay area – Manix. The Yay area has produced other music greats like E-40 and MC Hammer that helped to change the face of Hip Hop music, but none of them are quite like the new Hip Hop and R&B sensation, Manix. Manix has emerged to bring a unique flair to the Hip Hop and R&B scene. They are definitely not just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill boy band. At a time when the music marketplace is flooded with carbon copy rappers and R&B singers that depend heavily on gimmicks rather than talent, Manix has a refreshing combination of smooth R&B vocals, and an edgy hip-hop sound that creates a uniquely different sound. “We have listened to music all our lives, and artists like Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne have been nothing but an inspiration to us. We want to continue to make history like the other artists like E-40 that are from the Yay area, and contribute to taking hip hop and R&B to another level,” says Simba. “We’re working hard on our album to make sure that we keep giving our fans our best.” California-raised Frederick Delly, also known as NYCE and Demario Driver, also known as Simba – “The Young King of the Rap Game”, were brought together by their love for music. NYCE grew up listening to and studying Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Usher, which explains the soul-stirring melodies that he delivers so “nycely”. Simba, “The Young King of the Rap Game” was inspired by Hip-Hop greats, Jay-Z and Lil’ Wayne. Manix is hard at work in the studio working on their debut album that is sure to please. The album presents a diverse range of songs from anthems like, “Haters” to “Voicemail”. In their street anthem, “Haters”, Manix keeps their ear to the street and delivers the message, “I’m gon’ shine,” to all the haters over a simplistic yet hypnotic beat. Manix keeps the hood riding to “Tonka’s” an ode to a candy-painted whip sitting on dubs. While all the ladies love, “Voicemail” a song about a guy who is pleading with his girl to return his phone call. Manix not only has tremendous talent and creativity but the drive and discipline that are sure to bring chart-topping success. With the Yay area behind them, these are sure to be a success nationwide. Their debut album is scheduled to release this fall.
