Skavenger (now Suicide Sam) began as the project of Trannon Lee Goble and the production of Richard Lynch after nearly 10 years of working together in various projects. Although the band moniker wasn't chosen until 2003, the band itself had been playing since 1998 with various drummers and bassists until Scottie Hensley and Steve Patton joined the band. The album "Blind Souls of Fortune" was recorded in late '03 through '04 and finally released independently in February of 2005. The same month, April E. Goble was made Promotional Manager of the band. The lyrics and poetry of Trannon Lee Goble created the original concept of the album while the wall of sound produced by Richard Lynch helped to push Skavenger's single "Apollo's Curse" to #1 in SoundClick's Alternative Metal charts competing with nearly 10,000 other bands and #4 in the Metal (overall) charts competing with over 50,000 bands. After a small local tour, the band went back to the studio in 2006 and began work on a new album. In February 2007, Skavenger was invited to play the Goodstock 2007 Rock Festival in West Virginia on July 19, 20, and 21 of 2007. The festival is "A Celebration of the Summer of Love" with such 60's and 70's legends as Jefferson Starship, Iron Butterfly, The Seeds, Electric Prunes, and former members of Electric Flag, It's A Beautiful Day and The Grateful Dead and promoted by Larry McClurg and "Woodstock" 1969 co-creator Artie Kornfeld. Currently, the band Skavenger has changed their name but not their rockin' tunes. They are looking to turn a new chapter in their story and experiment with a variety of music and ideas. http://www.myspace.com/suicidesamtheband
