GUNSMOKE are a country music trio hailing from South Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. Their line up consists of John on lead vocals, Ray on bass guitar and Richard on lead guitar. Both Ray & Richard sing backing vocals providing the close vocal harmonies which the guys pride themselves upon. Although they only started on the modern country scene in January 2005, they were first around in the great days of the club bands back in the 60’s when the four and five piece groups were the kings of clubland. They first hit the circuits again at the turn of the century, after a short break of 30 years or so, playing music from the 50’s & 60’s but their love of country music soon had them working hard to generate a professional series of sets for the discerning country music enthusiast. Being long time lovers of the traditional, the act developed into one consisting of mainly traditional country but with an open minded approach to music new to the scene. In 2007, John & Richard started writing new country songs and have, so far, released three 12 track CD’s (Country Roots, Nashville Callin’ & Angels And Heroes) of self-penned songs which have been available for sale at the venues. In February 2010 the boys decided to retire from the live gigging and concentrate on promoting their self-penned songs on the worldwide web. This culminated in signing with MrBenidorm Records in August 2010 who released a 15 track album entitled NASHVILLE CALLIN\' which is available for downloads on Amazon. iTunes, Tesco and many more music sites. John and Richard have many more songs in various stages of development which will hopefully find their way on to the download sites in the near future.
