HE'S THE GUY THAT BROUGHT YOU THE HIT SONG “BONA RE ETSANG”. Born and raised in Ndofaya (Meadowlands),Soweto,Kay-E is one of the freshest Rappers to hit the South African Hip Hop industry and bring a new breath of fresh flavour to the genre. He is a former National Under 23 soccer team player (with 20 caps),who hung up his boots for the microphone. Kay-E has managed to build and Maintain a loyal & growing fanbase countrywide and in Africa as a whole. He has worked with BIG Artists like Music Veteran Robbie Malinga,Amu,Mr Selwyn, Pro,Tee Pee,985,F-eezy,Brown Dash,General (from Chiskop),Red Button,Bongo Riot,M.X.O,Deep Level,Maraza,Wright Ngubeni (Thula in Rhythm City),Zenzo (Stone in Rhythm City),Craig Palm (Sting in Zone 14) & G-Mo (Calvin in Isidingo). In terms of Production,he worked with Dome,Omen, Amu,Prof,Red Button and his producer Neo Beats. His first official Mixtape “FROM NDOFAYA WITH COLOUR”,released in July 2010,was marketed and distributed through his independent Record Label “Greenlight Entertainment”. It was a huge success,seeing Kay-E being able to have 5 Music Videos,including his well-known hit Single 'BONA RE ETSANG”,be played on National TV Channels (The 1st Hip Hop Artist in South Africa to do so). The 5 Music Videos “BONA RE ETSANG”,which has 3 versions: Original Version,A remix featuring 985,F-eezy,Molly & Spy 2 and the Female Remix feat 5 female Rappers; “BALLIN' feat TEEPEE & UMUNTU,have played on Live (SABC 1),Channel O,MTV Base,CLUB 808,Soweto TV & 1KZN on TOP TV. He was Number 1 Unsigned Artist on South Africa's Biggest Hip Hop Magazine,HYPE in 2011. He also had interviews on Daily Sun, Citizen & Move Magazine. He has performed at Mzansi's biggest Hip Hop event,BACK TO THE CITY. His track “BONA RE ETSANG” is being used by BONANG MATHEBA,as a jingle for her Radio show “BEEHIVE” on YFM every Saturday and Sunday between 12pm noon and 3pm. It has also being added to Ghetto Ruff's Compilation “MUTHALAND VOL. 2” and Electromode's “HIP HOP VIDEO COMPILATION”. His 1st Single for his debut Album,called “HOOKED ON YOU”,a smooth Love song,dedicated to the ladies,is on High Rotation on National Radio and the Music Video is also being flighted on TV as well. Kay-E has shown that though he is new to the industry,he is able to stand shoulder to shoulder with industry greats. He attributes this to him being a role model from a young age in Meadowlands and feels that he has more than just a story to tell about where he comes from and how he independently managed to build himself into a reputable brand.
