Kasha Says Earth Weep Earth Cry Kasha is the newest aggregation and their presence has brought aq resurgence of conscious or message-music as most Jamaicans prefer to call it. The band see themselves as musical revolutionaries, artistes whose sole purpose is to give new and meaningful directions to Reggae music, especially in these trying times when most artistes are prepared to compromise values and principles for fame and money. Kasha is aware of the hopelessness that exists among people who are tired of trying and exhausted from failing again again. Kasha's message to the disadvantage is to keep on keeping on,where there is life there is hope and dead people have nothing to look forward to,which means life is everything. The group was formed in 1988 by lead singer Daniel Samuels, drummer Keithroy Kika Jackson and lead Guitarist Lenworth Henry. Daniel Pointed out that like most groups they have had their fair share of good and bad times,Music however has always come first. "we believe that self discipline, respect and love are the key factors that keep Kasha going in these crucial times. Patricia Amiel is the groups manager who won the respect and admiration from every member of the group, due to her hard work and her ability to plan and organize the band activities in a precision like manner. She has also been influential in getting Kasha's music along with those of other Reggae artistes played on French Radio stations. The band is also scheduled to play in at a number of festivals and concerts in France in July and August. The band will also be doing a series of shows across Europe before returning for a number of gigs in Japan. Kasha has just released two crucial tracks in Jamaica "Earth Weep Earth Cry" and Rock Jam Reggae", These tracks are taken from their soon to be released album "Drop It" of which the title song in my book,is as classic a Reggae song as any Jamaican will ever hear. I personally can't understand, what has caused the delay in releasing this track. Kasha has no alternative but to "drop it".The world is going to be a much better place when ever that song is released. Kasha has a bright future as a performing unit; their originality, coupled with the the band sharp intellect is sufficient to keep them light years ahead of the ordinary aggregations that represents 90 percent of the earth's noise. Kasha has already placed themselves as a force to be reckoned with after the release of their single " Earth Weep Earth Cry". March 5th,1992 The Weekend Enquirer page 19 Kasha.... Positive Reggae Vibe Kasha is a five man band that is based in Braeton St Cathrine, from 1986 to 1987 the band was know in the recording arena as " Forces " they then recorded and released a single called " That's Not Right ",in 1989 they recorded and released another single "Freedom Black People",on the Harmodia Label operated by Conrad James Green, who also had a hit with "Jah Send Mi Come",done by Dignitary Stylish in 1989 that went No1 on the Reggae charts. "World Power", is the group's latest single released on the Pulpit label. The group see themselves as music messengers who will not sacrifice conscious lyrics for commercial success at anytime during their career. Kasha has Just Completed their first album which they called "Drop It", Personally i think "drop It" is going to be one ,if not the hit song that could launch the group into international recognition. The group's managed by Patricia Amiel, who is from France, she is describe as been a bundle of energy who has inspired them to unbelievable heights. Kasha could easily be the group that captures the attention of music critics this summer, throughout Europe during their planned summer tour, of France Holland Switzerland and London later this year. One must also mention the writing skills of Lenworth Henry Daniel Samuels ( lead vocals ) and Courtney Liston who write some devastating songs for the group, also Keitkroy Jackson revolutionary drummer, Kasha has depth and freshness to lead Reggae into new and interesting directions over the next couple of years.
