Bio
They say that history repeats itself and that statement can prove as an absolute fact when the name Jazzie Lee comes to mind. The 18-yr.-old rapper, songwriter and poet began her journey into rap stardom at the innocent age of 6, where she was first introduced to the music by Bone Thugs - N-Harmony and their classic 'E. 1999' album. By the time she had turned 14, she wowed her peers and adults alike by her ability to compose songs in under 20 minutes and memorizing it word for word in the same amount of time, if not less. Jazzie raps with a twist of speed & finesse. Being able to strategically place her lyrics in the highest point of her music which gives her the perfect finish. Where as with todays generation of music, cheesy gimmicks and lyrics speaking of sex and the 'good life' seem to have captivated the many listeners, Jazzie gives back what has been lost with the unfortunate passing of such musicians as; Aaliyah, Tupac Shakur & The Notorious B.I.G., a positive role model. She takes to heart the task of connecting with her listeners as she shares in her lyrics moments of despair and pain, but is able to uplift with her stronger points of overcoming the bad to enjoy the good. Being often compared to 2pac, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, Jazzie personally describees her music as 'Urban-Neo-HipHop-Soul' which is a blend of her aggressively intelligent and laid back vocals over a smooth or 'hard' beat. Always expressing how important public image is to her, she draws her style completely from the 1990's era of Hip-Hop. The baggy clothes, Tommy Hilfiger (and Adidas) gear and the dark shades were all a part of the 90's Hip-Hop style and Jazzie is determined to bring it all back. Showing the music world that she is ready to take over and wants to be remembered for her lyrical skills and not her bra size, she is forever coming up with new and fresh ideas, in which she says will help her to 'rebuild a collapsing music empire.' Funny, Charismatic and Down to earth are just a few words to describe this young hip hop MC and in the words of the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes 'A New Star Is Born.'
